The Ninja CREAMi Thread

I use the Vital Proteins you can buy at Costco. It’s a blue bottle. It’s not bad in enough coffee. LoL

What is the benefit of collagen ? I remember back in the day that was generally regarded as something to avoid because it was low quality, but maybe I’m remembering wrong

It’s good for your joints, hair, skin, nails, bones and gut. Some research suggests it’s got some muscle building/strength benefits too - it’s not as good as whey protein here, but it definitely has its merits with all the other stuff!

“Low quality” for building muscle, but great for other stuff. I take it daily. Here’s a good summary article:

I have come to the realization that I am really good at making a high protein Frosty. :joy:. That’s the consistency of all my ice cream I have made.

Oh well, at least my son still loves it and it’s nice for a change of pace from the old protein shake.

No-Milk Chocolate

Fill half the pint with coconut milk and half with almond milk. Then whisk in two scoops of chocolate MD Protein. I also added some collagen powder and granola. Not bad at all for non-dairy, but milk always wins when it comes to texture.

For those with Amazon Prime the Creami is down to $160 for the event

So, it looks like Ninja is making a soft-serve machine now.

I think it’s silly. The original machine can make soft-serve; you just don’t get the little swirly spout thing. All you have to do is use a 10-12 hour freeze time on the base instead 24 hours. Or, you can mix up any base, add a couple spoonfuls of milk, and hit the re-spin button. Boom, soft-serve without the $350 pricetag. (Normal machine is around $170.)

I’m sure kids would love it though.

Sour Cherry

This is the basic vanilla recipe plus 1 teaspoon of the flavoring shown. It adds a bit of sugar, but it doesn’t take much to get a whole new flavor.

I’m not a huge fan of fruity candy (Starburst, Sour Patch, etc.) but if you are, you’ll like this one. I tossed in about 1/4 cup of chopped cherries as the mix-in.

Got a CREAMi because of this thread. Last night I made a shake out of:

  • 2 Fairlife 40P vanilla shakes
  • 2 TBSP sugar free jello mix
  • Splash of carb free milk
  • Flakey sea salt to taste
  • A can of Dr. Pepper zero cream soda

Most incredible protein shake I’ve ever had.. 84P, 16C..

Made two more. Getting much better at consistency and taste. Here’s a chocolate and strawberry.

How should we market this?

Yes, this is a joke. Or should we make it?

Make a “Merry Christmas, Bob,” seasonal flavor.

What are you guys using for sweetener?

Anybody tried stevia in this?
I tried stevia bunch of times in baking and it was terrible.

If you’re using a tasty protein powder, that’s your sweetener. No need to add sweetener if you’re using Metabolic Drive, for example. It already has it. Splenda generally works best if you need to add sweetener though.

Liquid stevia is much better than standard.

I mean, I’d buy it. lol

Carrot cake?

Yep, carrots in ice cream with the traditional cake spice and walnuts. Needed the cream cheese flavor element, but I didn’t have any on hand. I think a spoonful of softened cream cheese as the mix-in along with the grated carrots would do the trick. Work in progress, but pretty tasty.

Wild Blueberry Superfood

Ingredients

• 12 oz 1% milk, organic, lactose-free
• 2 scoops of Metabolic Drive, vanilla
• 1 serving of Superfood
• 1/4 cup frozen wild blueberries (mix-in)

Directions

  1. Whisk everything together except for the berries and freeze overnight. The Superfood will separate a bit, but the Ninja CREAMi machine takes care of it later.

  2. When you’re ready to make it, thaw the wild blueberries in the microwave, 30 seconds or so. This not only thaws them but also releases their juice.

  3. Spin your base on the lite setting, make a hole at the top, and add the blueberries, juice and all. (Without the juice, it’s a little powdery.) Rerun it on the mix-in setting.

  4. Add more berries to the top if you’d like.

Since Superfood contains a lot of berries, I figured the wild blueberries would complement it, and it did.

This one has 56 grams of protein per pint.

Thank you for creating this thread as I am going to play around with some of your recipes. Some of my friends went absolutely bonkers over this machine but have only had it a short time. How do you feel about the durability of your Ninja?
