The Next President of the United States: IV

Uh, ya, we have a huge welfare problem. A lot of these people don’t want to find work. They’re more than happy to suck off the teet that is the gov.

On the other hand, as I’m sure the case is with you, the vast majority of immigrants come here to bust their ass and make a better life for themselves and future generations. It is one of the drivers that make America unique.

“Make America Great Again.” We have always been a nation of immigrants so I guess this means welcoming immigrants with open arms.

If one million per year isn’t mass immigration, why is the white population so quickly declining?

It’s not even half of 1% of our population.

Save for the ‘Hate Whitey’ thing. It’s seems to be at an all time high. Bigotry and hatred toward white males has never been higher. I am not talking about having racial beefs, I am talking about purely hating somebody for the color of their skin.
I am not saying there is oppression, enslavement or any kind of shit like that. Just a lot more people just spewing hate against white men in particular because they are white men and no other reason. And it’s perfectly acceptable to say it. Hating people because of their skin color and gender is still bigotry and is still wrong to do no matter what the color or gender may be.
But it’s taboo to even recognize it’s existence, even if true. I will probably catch crap for just saying this BUT I have an out…I am hispanic.

My personal experience, being a young white male living just outside Baltimore City, is that this attitude is completely overblown and driven almost solely by “news” networks looking for ratings. Racial strife exists and it always will to some degree. I’d never argue otherwise, but I don’t think we’ve hit some all time high on hating white people. That’s not my experience anyway.

I think if people turned their TV off, logged out of social media, and engage in the world (in real life) they’d see it’s really not that bad.

Because most jobs go to new immigrants

I imagine much of it is driven by lower birth rates and the like among the white population. The graying of America has been a problem for some time.

But, your question is based on a premise that the white population is intrinsically bad. It’s not. It isn’t good or bad.

They make less…

I’m reading this and it hits me and I go back and read the comment I originally responded to, I misunderstood what you meant. Thought you were saying we need standards for candidates to meet before being able to run. I even quoted and managed to fuck it up. Sorry.

Your “source”, which is better classified as right-wing flame fanning tabloid, references foreign born people. Not “new immigrants”. Want to try again? Or are we back to all immigrants are bad, including you.

Your simplification of the impact immigration has on the economy and employment is still glaring. I don’t know how else to tell you that it is not that simple.

…or if Hillary Clinton a near indicted (and still might be) psychopathic liar wins is it time to rethink the system?

Oh wait…

Perhaps Raj is looking at this not through the lens of race but of culture.

It should but it won’t.

There are an enourmous amount of talented people in this country, CEO’s, generals, politicians. The fact that there is a very good chance Clinton or Trump will be the president should make us re-evaluate the primary system. Whether it is the super delegates on the democratic side or the confusing winner-take-all, caucus/election whatever the hell each state does on republican side.

I should have been more specific. The main place I see it is on social media. My day to day experience hasn’t changed. So your right, if I didn’t look at social media, I wouldn’t see it. And if we all turned off the news, racial tensions would surely drop.
The media is so evil. I remember when they used to report the news, not try to create the news. I remember when facts mattered and not some odd person’s opinion made news.

Hey buddy you are right on all points. But, the system is not going to get reevaluated. Only the players will change as they do every four years. And while they will no doubt be a tad better than the duo we have to choose from now don’t count on any great leaders emerging in the near future.

You just hit the nail on the head. The media now has an agenda and they will turn the news to fit that agenda. True journalism is a rare find nowadays.

Isn’t this an argument in favor of what I’m saying above, though?

If votes for Hilary and/or Trump just reinforce the “system” the only way to get us towards “rethink the system” is voting for a non-Republican, non-Democrat candidate.

As long as people decide to cast their vote for the less-shitty of two major-party choices, this is true.

I’m kind of amused how you can prattle on about how awful the two choices are this year, but then resign yourself to “the system will never change so I have to vote for the less-shitty of the two.”

A good friend of mine posted this on Facebook a few days ago, and I agree.

Look at the rest of the post. Read. Then read again.

Perhaps, but he didn’t say culture, he said “white majority”, but if he is referring to culture, he’s referring to a culture informed by immigration since the birth of the republic.
