Not sure what thread or where the quote was, but a more detailed analysis on the 20% odds of Trump winning right now are here:
For those who understand this really comes down to swing states, this polling sure doesn’t look good for Trump. He’s down in FL, IA, MI, NC, OH, PA, and VA. He’s got a lot of ground to make up if those are accurate. Time for him to start praying a Hillary indictment shakes everything up.
I thought Marco Rubio would have certainly won the election for multiple reasons and I also think he would have been a good President. I also liked Scott Walker, Rick Perry and others. Donald Trump was, for me, number 17 out of 17 for obvious reasons.
But yes I do support him over the Queen of all liars.
Nonsense Drew, polls in June do not mean a whole lot. Every candidate wants to be up in every poll at every point. But if you look at history about half the candidates who were up in summer/spring actually won the White house. So what does it really mean right now?
He is completely clueless relative to foreign affairs.
He says things on a semi regular basis that both make him and the republican party look bad. The latest was his remarks about the Judges heritage that is handling the Trump University lawsuit.
I’ll be very honest with you, and whomever else would like to read this. I literally cannot stand to look at the man. The republicans had a lock on this election going up against Hillary Clinton. Now it is going to be very close and if the republican wins it is going to be Donald Trump!
Furthermore, the only reason I am voting for Trump is because I have a strong belief, from talking to those who have spoken to him, that he will appoint conservative Judges to the supreme court. That is the only reason that he gets my vote.
I literally pray that if he does win he surrounds himself with people who are actually much smarter than him and that he will listen to them on a regular basis.
Honestly, the only person of national prominence who is less suited to become Commander and Chief is Hillary Clinton and that is because of her complete and total lack of integrity.
If political experience for you is an important criteria for a President Okay. But I have to say, based on the track record of these career politicians, why would it be? As a free market guy I like the fact he comes from the free market.

2. He has the persona of a big mouth bragger.
Okay
3. He is misrepresenting his wealth.
He’s worth several billion dollars with estimates ranging from 2.9-10B dollars.
By the way if this bothers you, how on earth can you prefer Rubio?? Rubio has some serious skeletons in the closet regarding his finances. I can bring them up, but honestly it’s sort’ve a dead topic at this point.

This is a nebulous answer. If you mean military strategy, I do not think any of the 17 GOP candidates have a real clue, that’s something only military generals would be experts on.

Does it matter to you that Trump is right?
Did you know Judge Curiel was part of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association that offers scholarships to illegal mexican immigrants?
Mr. Elorza immigrated to the United States when he was 11 years old. In college, he led workshops at high schools, non‐profit organizations, colleges, and parks where he talked about the DREAM ACT. His recommender described Mr. Elorza as bright and determined, and with an “enthusiasm for the law and eagerness to learn.” Mr. Elorza wishes to someday tell any student struggling with higher education, “Look, a boy from Oaxaca, who did not know English and is undocumented has now graduated from law school and is an attorney.”
I agree, only throwing it out there to indicate the state of the current race and people were talking about polling (specifically Raj and his neck-and-neck poll which is an outlier of many showing Clinton leading). Its still very early and there are plenty of story lines to play out. My point is that currently Trump is behind. He has 5 months to change that, and the FBI might help him do that.
Sorry for butting in Zeb, but I couldn’t hold back with some of the comments.
Some of the historians around here can correct me if I’m wrong, but we’ve never had a president who wasn’t either in the Military or held political office. I’d say the track record of the USA is pretty good up to this point, not perfect, but Trump is certainly lacking in any governing, foreign policy, federal budget, or really anything related to the job he’s actually going for. Inexperienced is a nice way of putting it. Grossly incompetent at the skills necessary for the job might be another.
Still waiting on those tax returns. What skeletons is Trump hiding?
No its not. You’ve already had this discussion on the Presidential III thread, which you ignored. Its not about being an expert, its about understanding the basics, which he clearly does not. I don’t know how you keep shrugging this off as if everybody else is as ignorant as him, which is absolutely not true. Do you need to see the nuclear triad question again? Then see how Rubio answered directly after? Notice anything different in the two answers? Hint: One has knowledge of foreign affairs and what the nuclear triad is, the other is making stuff up and saying nuclear is bad, very bad.
He’s not. He’s wrong for the comment, it has hurt him in a time where he should’ve been capitalizing on other things going on.
The fallout should an indictment not come will be considerable. You will see FBI agents resigning, then leaking all details they uncovered. Little by little, you will see a slow drip of info, a little here, a little there, and she will have to manage that.
You guys can go back and forth debating this forever, and it doesn’t matter. The election is already over. Unless you have had your head under a rock for the past 2 decades, you already had a very strong opinion of both Donald and Hillary. They are both a solid black or white with no gray area. You either love them or you hate them. The only question at this point is who can get the most people out to vote in the swing states. Sadly, this is what US politics has devolved into, even at the local level. It is no longer about qualifications and issues. It is entirely a popularity contest. Actually, it is even worse at the local level. The candidate who has the most and the biggest signs wins locally.
This is the only fucking reason Donald Trump is so popular. If an unknown said even 10% of what Donald has said he would have been laughed out of the country by now.
I agree that she will not be indicted. At least not with our current President in charge. But, if she is recommended for indictment that will be enough to sink her campaign. And the FBI investigation was opened I believe in March of 2015 with only a handful of agents. Fast forward 15 months later and not only is the investigation still ongoing it has been expanded to include the Clinton Foundation. Total FBI agents actively working on Clinton’s emails and the Clinton Foundation is around 250 give or take.
If there was nothing there it would have been over months ago. She has broken some laws without question in my view. If Director Comey recommends and indictment and Obama’s Justice Department does nothing it will not only take Hillary down politically but will be a long lasting black eye (another one) on the Obama Administration.
And that is why I am predicting (and have been) that Hillary Clinton will never become President of the United States. Of course she could lose without any of that too.
This is a great point. Imagine a businessman, even a wealthy one, with no political experience - that no one has heard of - declaring his candidacy and espousing the same nonsense as Trump. No one here or anywhere would know his name.
Take it even a step further - imagine an elected official, say a Congressman from any state, pick one, who declared his candidacy and then proceeded to promise to commit war crimes as president and accuse Ted Cruz’s father of helping assassinate JFK. He’d be a laughingstock.
This appears to be some very big news and was apparently sparked by the attention that her meeting with Bill Clinton has received.
If this is the case I am wondering if Obama will now replace Lynch before the FBI reaches its conclusion. As I have been saying judging by the length and the many agents on the Clinton double criminal investigation Comey will recommend an indictment.
