I don’t think there’s enough evidence to say it’s the Russian who leaked it conclusively. It’s very much just a dodge by the DNC to throw the scent off their corruption

The same malware and associated servers were used as previous attacks that have been conclusively attributed to Russian state actors. The U.S. intelligence community - the most sophisticated in history - has also concluded with high confidence that the FSB and GRU were behind the attacks based on scientific evidence.
