You didn’t know about Bush’s secret $50B spending bill that takes effect in 2017? Do your research man…
Ok fellows.
Everyone understands how interest works for you, particularly when reinvested. You earn interest on interest paid in addition to your capital. $100 @7% reinvested will be $200 in only ~ 10 years.
The same thing occurs in reverse, when a country borrows money year after year, in order to deficit spend. It’s strictly math, not some evil intent in it’s own right.
Thus, this consideration must be factored into conversation of national debt increasing by double, per this or that president.
Bottom line - President only ‘suggest’ budget, Congress approves with power of purse.
Which is why the budget got more under control when the GOP took over congress. Obama’s first few years he was able to have congress aligned with him and get the budget he wanted.
Yes, I believe that this is exactly what he’s doing.
Let me reform my words in more sensible form: The ability to pay back the debt has increased, while the debt itself increases.
But to be honest I did some fact checking, while trying to find things to support my own view. And I must admit that I am shooting unicorns in the dark… So I will revert back to my orginal statement that for all intents and purposes seems correct:
World has 5 countries that don´t have debt. Everybody else is in debt. it’s good to note: that the entire world isin’t doing all that well echonomically. That´s due neo-capitalism aka: Capitalism that’s sole belief is that debt results allways in expotential growth. The thing is that that is running to the end of it’s course and either: The form of capitalism has to change, or it´s fundamental rules have to change. This financial
situation won’t be solved by any goverment, but by the world banks. We are pretty much moving to form of world order where major companies have all the decision power as they controll most world finances and less than 0,05% of population make all the decisions. The world’s financial situation really doesn´’t affect any of the leaders of the companies as their money is not tied to any country. Money really has no motherland.
I bet he idolizes Stella Kluber
And a Clinton presidency will help ISIS strengthen their foothold in America by using Clintons Merkel inspired Muslim refugee program.
Do you expect a Clinton presidency to lead to more Americans squished like jelly between smoldering rubble or shot up like Swiss cheese and disemboweled?
Your link didn’t mention anything about paying back the debt, it didn’t talk about the debt at all. It only mentioned the deficit, which has shrunk by 1 trillion since Obama’s first year where he and his party-aligned congress approved a budget with a 1.4 trillion deficit (there’s that stimulus package).
On what basis do you conclude that the ability to pay back the debt has increased?
“No such debt reduction is on the horizon now. Thanks to ObamaCare and his refusal to reform entitlements, Mr. Obama has set the federal fisc on an even uglier path long after he’s left for a tour of the world’s great golf courses. CBO says spending will keep rising and so will debt as a share of GDP—to 77.2% in 2017, 79.3% in 2021 and 85.5% in 2026. (See the nearby chart.) All of this assumes no change in current policy and no economic recession. The odds of the latter are close to zero.”
Did you notice at the end of the last debate Trump and his family left pretty early on instead of socializing with the attendees?. You could tell he felt everyone there was against him and he just wanted to get out. And these were supposedly undecided voters, or best case at least not as against him as most of the general public.
He’s reverting back to the tactics that won him the Republican primary.
Only because tax revenue has increase ie taxes have increased. I understand that might be acceptable to you since you’re in Finland, but many of us here in the States do not.
Right, we pay more in taxes and the debt goes up. That’s a lose/lose in my book.
5 tiny countries.
Debt is not inherently good or bad. It’s a tool and nothing more.
It’s not correct. It’s actually pretty absurd…
It’s not going to work in the general.
GETTING scary?? Just now? Lol. I feel like I could be in poltergeist or The Stand or something. ![]()
Any thoughts?
I know it’s a comedy site, but the reasons seem on the mark to an ignorant observer…
Sounds reasonable enough. Except, I still don’t get why they picked Trump. Hell, even Kasich seems more conservative (the rural view described within sounding conservative). Like, how was Trump NOT seen as one of the Hedonistic elite discussed within? I never saw him as anything but.
Super pissed off by this!
Doesn’t look like there’s going to be much of a general to speak of by morning.
Some new development, smh?
Is there ANYTHING left to shock us?
I’m thinking the electorate is pretty numb at this point, and is just ready to get on with it…I sure am…
Not to mention those remarks were made directly in reference to Rupert Murdoch, they just might have kicked a hornets nest with that one!
