I’m trying to understand how small government types think they can win in the future with continued major demographic shifts assuming Trump doesn’t get elected. Walk me through that.

i’ve said multiple times you need libertarian minded people to have a libertarian style society. By manipulating demographics through Trumps immigration plan, the country will naturally have a larger base interested in small government principles.
Agreed. I didn’t want Obama in the white house because of his past experiences shaping who he was–but it is unreasonable to ask a person to govern without that persons past experiences to guide them. That’s like asking a doctor to forget everything they learned in med school along with everything they learned in their practice the past few years when diagnosing a patient.
In following the analogy I’d rather make sure the doctor came from a top quality school with top quality grades and also had a long history of success in his hospital practice. With the experience being more important than the name of his school.
The past matters, that’s why vetting is so important. But it is also inextricably tied to a person, and divorcing it is impossible.

Trump is undoubtedly a deeply flawed candidate. How he is the Republican nominee is beyond me. With that being said, I fail to see how anything he has ever said could possibly be considered worse than the many terrible things Hillary Clinton has actually done.

In foreign policy related news, Russia moves nuclear capable missiles next to Poland and Lithuania. The move comes ahead of an announced move of NATO troops to its Eastern flank next year.
Coincidence? Hmmm…
Russia is going to be a major issue for the next administration.

I am, and I also put my money where my mouth is. As much as I disagree with Clinton on issues foreign and domestic, a Trump presidency would assuredly be antithetical to American interests and values.
It’s clear you haven’t been following this issue very closely. The U.S. intelligence community has stated with a high degree of confidence that the hack and subsequent leak of the DNC was carried out by Russia’s GRU and FSB in a direct attempt to subvert the American political system. These operations have the support of the highest officials in the Kremlin. Wikileaks and other Russian sponsored “transparency” sites are merely mouthpieces for Moscow’s geopolitical ends. It’s extremely concerning that a near-peer adversary supports a Trump presidency.
If you knew anything about Putin and his coterie, you would know they despise Clinton. They see her as an adversial hawk that stands in the way of a revanchist Russia. Trump? He effusively praises Putin, and his policy prescriptions would be a geopolitical windfall for Russia. Several high ranking Trump campaign members also have dubious financial ties to the Kremlin.
We’ve seen this nonsense before, this idea of libertopia being achievable if you can just get the “right” race(s) in the political unit (community, state, nation). We saw it with the stuff drudged up from the Ron Paul fever swamps, the Lew Rockwell troglodytes who either played footsie with or outright accepted white nationalists.
It’s was disgusting then, and it’s disgusting now.
But now there is a new, idiotic twist - liberty through tyranny: if we just elect the right autocrat, through the raw abuse of authority, he’ll strongarm the country into better racial purity and the conditions of libertopia will be established. Then, hilariously, the swelled government under said autocrat will somehow recede to minimalist dimensions to give the right and proper (white) people who deserve freedom all the liberty they can handle.
Racist idiots, to a man. This species of fascism has no root or place in American political philosophy or electoral politics.

I will borrow a page from smh and ask you to provide audio/video and otherwise irrefutable evidence that Russia is behind the hack. I have no doubt you’re right about the hack (no sarc), it’s just that we live in a world today that more resembles an episode of Law and Order. We seem to need every single piece of the puzzle to fit neatly into the equation for anyone to be taken seriously. But yea, I’m sure the hack came from Russia.
