The Next President of the United States: IV

I’m attacking because of the level of support he has here.

Again you’re no better

Yeah. He even alluded to holding back in the debate and in commentary afterward. After seeing the way he can manipulate in the primaries I wouldn’t doubt it.
I just don’t know if Hillary is an opponent that the same strategy he used on Cruz and Rubio could work as well with. Its a whole different crowd doing the judging now that both parties are involved. A partisan slugfest to see who wants to win more is cool, but it may not be as well received by the other half of the voting public.

My premise was that I could see this and Dallas M News (for example since i live within 100 miles) have verifiable or deductible (inference of a few fact checks) Dem ownership/mgmt who are now endorsing Dem. Even against 100+ year history of endorsing GOP.

On top of Left leaning mgmt is loss of circulation since 1990 of 360,000 to 165,000 while AZ population has increased by 50% to 4.6MM.

so 1) Dems are endorsing Dems, 2) Newspapers are becoming whispers than no one hears anyway

If you and @thunderbolt23 see some game changer status with these endorsements, we just disagree.

edit this post is pitiful sentence construction - sorry

It’s certainly possible, but it shouldn’t be that hard to show it. For example, AZ Central is a part of the USA Today Network, which has been owned by Gannett since 2000.

I don’t see any notable change since 2000 and like they’ve pointed out, they’ve never endorsed a dem prior to this election. They endorsed McCain, Reagan, etc…

I don’t, but I think to TBs point, it should at the very minimum give people pause. Why would a newspaper that has never endorsed a dem endorse such a terrible candidate in Hillary Clinton? Is it more likely that she’s just an amazing candidate or that they’ve been bought off by Dems or that the Republican nominee is just that terrible?

Agreed. You would think people would be praising Johnson so he pulls moderate Dems…

I don’t think newspaper endorsements move the needle much at all, they really haven’t for years. I post them because they are interesting, especially in the case of papers who are predictably partisan going the other way - that means they feel strongly enough to make a statement that might cost them subscriptions in an age where they can’t afford to lose any. I admire that level of integrity.

Most importantly, they make articulate, well-reasoned arguments why certain candidates are bad and good - and that is an extremely good thing to add to a national debate where one candidate struggles to put together complete sentences.

For those wondering why he didn’t got after Hillary’s treatment of Bill’s women much harder…That’s because Trump himself attacked those women and called Bill the victim…

Hillary can say she did it because she believed in her husband. As many wives would’ve.

Trump did it because he thought the women were ‘ugly.’

Endorsement watch - Chicago Tribune endorsed…Gary Johnson:

No…he goes on Twitter and Social Media and rants like a 16 year old Mean Girl.

Fine…defend your Policies and Positions…but staying up to 3 and 4 in the morning to rant about some obscure beauty contestant, with a troubled past, that you had in fact publically humiliated?

Please.

That is the very definition of being thin-skinned. A person wanting to be President won’t survive a week in Office if they let this kind of stuff bother them to the extent that they seem to bother Trump.

He only sleeps 4 hours a night. He’s always up.

Question: If someone lays an attack on him does he have a right to respond and defend himself?

Walk me through that one.

there has been a 24/7 onslaught on his character for the past year. You can’t be serious

Trump absolutely has the right to Tweet until his hair turns blue.

The fact that you can write this paragraph about a major presidential candidate is astounding. Welcome to the worst election in modern history.

Trump is like a living parody of an effeminate, reality-TV loon. I believed at the outset of this whole mess that he was going to sink for two reasons: his stupidity and his histrionic, disordered personality. And that’s just what’s happening.

Here is Trump’s original comments on her weight… What a crazy guy

Didn’t Trump say in effect recently “Who is this woman”? (paraphrasing) and "I hardly knew her? (paraphrasing).

I give up, raj. You win…and it shows that one can find almost anything anywhere to support their narrative.

Trumps is a great guy. He’ll make America Great Again.

The whole thing is much ado about nothing.

Both sides should move along and speak to something of pertinence for today.

Damn I hate politics.

If you need evidence Trump is a king of reading people and captivating them this clip is evidence. He knows what tools to pull out depending on the audience.

A good tell for a socially suave man is his ability to show emotional range. He can be the calm cool guy in front of a small group of reporters sucking them all into his frame, to the loud and braggadocios man that brings in people by the thousands to hear him speak at his rallies.

It’s plenty pertinent. Temperment and judgment are two of the most important traits to evaluate in a candidate.

Look, we wouldn’t hire an executive with this lack of self-control and common sense at the company where I work, let alone for leader of the free world.
