The Next President of the United States: III

You’re absolutely right! I’ve taken the necessary steps, and I thank you for the reminder.

One loose end (I’m about to leave for an indefinite period of traveling): @pushharder – you said you respect me a while back. The sentiment, as you know, is utterly mutual.

Perhaps, but I see no path to the presidency for him. I think a departure now would leave him with a “could have been” rather than a catastrophe.

But other than that, I have no major disagreement with your political history, or your assessment. I am just an Irish observer, after all.

What you are claiming is that you want him to duck out and run away before he loses. Doing that in my opinion looks far worse than fighting and losing just as the many other candidates that I mentioned did. There is no shame in losing. But it might be seen as shameful to run before the fight. Also, neither of us know the political money that is behind him. Maybe he can’t duck and run. He might be locked into seeing it through past Florida.

This is one very weird year.

And for those who think it’s just weird on the republican side think again. We have a hunched over balding old Socialist giving the golden girl of the democrat parry a run for her money. Hillary better be thinking twice about her own popularity. Losing Michigan to Bernie was just humiliating for her and her entire campaign. I got a huge belly laugh from that one.

I could see Obama doing that to her 7 years ago. Regardless of what anyone thinks of his horrendous policies (or lack of policy). He was a good looking candidate loaded with plenty of charisma. And he really turned out the vote.

What does Bernie have to offer? Free things by taking from those who earned it and giving it to those who didn’t earn it?

Ha ha…and Hillary is losing to him all over the country.

Anyway…it’s an odd year my friend.

An odd year it is. But have his backers not been pushing him to duck out before Florida? [quote=“zeb1, post:1446, topic:212571”]

Never underestimate it. That is how European politics is run. Shame to see it go to the American shores.

I will say this as a European offering a non-sequitur, America does not need European politics, and I truly hope it is beaten there. T’is dark days when America looks to Europe for inspiration.

Bernie Sanders will barely be talked about one year from today. Remembered only by those who track such political minutia.

He’s an old con man and America has not fallen so far as to buy into his con. Obama has created both Bernie and Trump–think about it.

The only reason that I brought Bernie up is that I am thrilled he’s making Hillary spend time, money and energy beating him. And from what I’ve heard she doesn’t have a whole lot of energy in that frumpy old lady body of hers. So GO BERNIE. Ha…wear Hillary out and make her spend as much as possible setting her up for a nice loss in the general.

The Clintons are detestable people in almost every way. From Bill the rapist to Hillary the cowardly liar.

Famous last words, my friend.

And yet she still will be the democratic candidate. It boggles the mind.

Famous last words? Really now…You will probably not be a member of T Nation one year from today, then again maybe you will stick around, I hope you do… But this I assure you Bernie will barely be an asterix regarding the 2016 Presidential race. And if you are sill a member I will have to remind you of this discussion my friend.

As for Hillary the DNC owes her, at least that is the scenario. It doesn’t matter how many crimes she committed or how many lies she tells. Nor does it matter how detestable her rapist husband is. The Witch Debbie Wasserman Schultz will stand behind her all the way. That does not boggle my mind on bit. It’s her reward for playing ball with Obama. And for not wrecking Bill Clinton’s Presidency (more than he already did). If she did not go on the offensive against the many women that Bill had sex with it would have sunk his Presidency. His wife leaving him while he was in office would have been just horrible.

Anyway, as I said an odd election…

Not sure. My state has closed primaries and I know of people that have switched for both reasons. My “gut” says it is probably 3 to 1 people switching to vote for Trump.

It wouldn’t make much sense to switch to vote against him, I doubt it’s nearly that high. Especially considering polling has shown him as the easy target for the Dems, I’ve actually read a couple of articles about Dems voting for him because it would be an easy win.

But Push, analysis of such complex issued cannot be made with “gut instinct” or intuition!
We are a bunch of untrained hee-haws and are not educated or equipped to make such statements!

I haven’t really been following along so maybe I’m just confused about what is being discussed. That said, how can you analysis a complex issue via gut instinct or intuition? That to me is like saying, I know where Trump stands on policy because I follow his twitter account…

It’s on.

THIS “Super Tuesday” should tell us a lot.

Could be very depressing…

As long as Trump does not sweep Cruz still has a chance to defeat him. And I highly doubt that Kasich will be losing Ohio.

The more I think I “understand” Politics…the more I realize how much I just don’t understand.

How in the world did Trump develop an almost double-digit lead over Rubio in his home State of Florida?

This is working out to be a Presidential Election year like no other.

Do you guys think the GOP “Establishment” (however you wish to define that) would get behind Cruz?

Will they take an “Anybody-but-Trump” stance?

(My feeling is that if they do; they we alienate a SIGNIFICANT amount of the Conservative Base).
