Do you like to use the sumo deadlift as a layer system exercise in a 4 day split with bench, incline, sumo deadlift and zercher squat ?
For the layer:
Ramp 2 RM
90% cluster 3 sets
80% 30 reps as fast as possible
I know you said in this thread you wouldn’t layer the deadlift but did you mean only conventional? In the past I saw programs with a deadlift layer in it ( it was for a powerlifting meet for a T-Nation member)
I would not use any deadlift variation as a layer movement. WAY too demanding on the nervous system. I used the deadlift in a powerlifting “|layer” template but it wasn’t really the layer system.
You could use a deadlift but it would be a shortened layer… something like:
Ramping up to 2RM
2 clusters sets with 85-90%
2 sets of 5 with 70-75%
