The Inauguration

Wait, was that the “funny” white supremacy joke?

MTV has to do with your constant moaning about skinny jeans, mtv, young people, skinny jeans, mtv, young people, skinny jeans… all connected in your posts across the boards.

And no, that wasn’t a funny white supremacy joke. It was your racist comment adapted to a “white” viewpoint.

I would have to google funny white supremacy jokes to know one.

Let it die old man. An american flag should be on the flag poles, people should dress how they want and the president, regardless of color, should lead the country based on the constitution. Nothing funny about it.

Skinny jeans aren’t the issue. Little clueless fuckers like you are…they just also happen to be part of the group who wears crap like that. They are the ones popping their colors and wearing neon polo shirts in stark contrast to how poorly illuminated their perspective of the world is.

Old man? Kid, I just hit my 30’s and have accomplished more than most of the people my age in the time I’ve been here. Can you say the same?

People like you cry about “political correctness” and then turn around and throw a tantrum because of “paint the white house black”…a phrase that has been in countless songs over the years and speaks on the fact that blacks considered that particular venue off limits for so long.

But people like you don’t get things like that. It has to be mapped out and explained because your concept of the world around you is about as in depth as Paris Hilton’s spiritual connection.

Yeah, I’m glad “old man” is what pops into your head if little boys like you are what you consider “normal”.

People like me?

Who am I?

Please tell me. I think Beyonce is mediocre, I think it’s ok to have abs as long as they are on a strong body, I don’t like androgynous women and all of a sudden I’m a skinny jeans wearing, collar popping, MTV protege?

You make big assumptions.

I hate the politically correct movement. I also hate hypocrisy.

When have you ever seen me be politically correct, or even tactful?

For a guy who does bitch about race from time to time, you seem to be on a roll with your racist jokes.

Blacks have viewed themselves poorly the past few decades. Obama didn’t single handedly turn the tides of race in a matter of months.

Racism has been dead for a long time. This is the first time a black man has been in a qualified position to run for president effectively, more due to political games than race.

Maybe it is you blacks who have a poor understanding of the world around you. “Po pitiful me, I is black an’ the devil don’ like me. I guess I betta not try too hard, I ain’t goin’ get nowhere. I bes’ jus’ joining a gang and steal and sell drugs. A black man either gets dead or arrested no matta what he does.”

Maybe 50 years ago but not in yours or my lifetime. I’m glad Obama’s election wakes you up to the racial reality we have experienced the entire time either of us has been alive based on your age reference.

You are the jilted one homeboy. Now move forward.

And what is Paris Hilton’s spiritual connection?

Because I would bet she is not the image she sells to the public in real life. People do buy shit like her persona up and she is smart to capitalize off of it.

Please tell me who Paris Hilton and myself are. Because I know you know us both so well.

I guess there are some of us left who are not so utterly insane that we’re going to get behind a man who is leading a nation of blind idiots over the edge of cliff simply because he is black. Call me a foaming at the mouth racist if you want, but I’m not going over the cliff with you.

You didn’t seem to mind when he was white.

And oh yeah, you’re a foaming at the mouth racist.

He’s one of the very few here who actually listened to the guy’s speech.

I’ve heard better speeches from vacuum cleaner salesmen.

Well, he’s not a vacuum cleaner salesmen. He’s your president.

Heard any better speeches from any presidents lately?

Some people seem to think that racism is shouting the N-word to black people. And burning crosses on their lawn.

Racism is when you see a black guy, performing better than a white guy and then put his effort down.

For example: one might see a black president deliver a speech that could very well be the speech of the century. Coming from 8 years of misunderinterpretations and then have the balls to say: “I’ve heard better speeches from vacuum cleaner salesmen.”

That my friends, is racism.
You and Prof X are sure paranoid in your hunt for racism everywhere, aren’t you?

You didn’t even listen to the entire speech, yet want to chant your Anti-Bush rhetoric, given any excuse.

Obama’s speech sucked. Even the libs admit this, saying how wonderful it was that he avoided any ‘soaring rhetoric’. Here’s just one of many libs:

"Historian Mike Davis also praised Obama’s restraint, calling it a “brilliantly modulated speech that perfectly showcased Obama’s gravitas while revealing as little as possible of his actual passions. Hopefully we can now take a break from patriotic celebrations and incantations of ‘hope’ and return to rescuing the survivors from the wreckage of the Bush era.” (LA Times)

Just when the ‘troops’ needed inspiration, during a long cold recession, Obama gave us a flat laundry list speech.

Yet saying that, to you, constitutes ‘racism’. Sane people would call you crazy; I’d just call you a paranoid turd.

Don’t. When good people are silent, the shiteaters spout up their nonsense and win. They have to be confronted. To stay silent in the presence of their crap is to countenance it.

Well, if you put it like that, NOT putting him down if you would put down a white guy was also racism.

So there.

Welcome Back, Prof!

While I disagree with Obama’s solutions, I certainly hope that he can turn this country around. God be with him!

Now, to solve our problems, we can either (1) shrink gov’t (2) leave it the same (3) grow it even larger.

Which of these three would be best for turning around our economy?
You missed the main point. The fourth option is to make it WORK. Like Obama said. Finance effective iniatives and CUT useless programs. Of course, those are just pretty words. Eliminating bureaucratic waste and mismanagement is a lot harder in practice. But that’s what needs to happen.

He does have a silver tongue. I just can’t decide if that’s a good thing for a politician to posses.

This is the only part that I wanted to hear with my own ears:

“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Emphasis mine.

Yeah, because the Bush regime, and presumable McCain would follow suit, did such a good job protecting out constitutionally afforded rights.
GWB’s failure, has no bearing on BO’s commitment to honor the oath of office. The oath highlights that the guiding principle is supposed to be the Constitution.

Bureaucratic waste isn’t the problem: unproductive USA with economy based on consuming junk produced in other countries whilst running up massive debt, hiding taxes in inflation, and who knows how many “favours for the boys” behind the scenes where the rich have been running riot (trading up oil, dodgy sub prime loans, other bullshit) … creating wars so arms dealing mates get rich, man, how much bullshit is going on, I hope this guy can fix it because I look at America and see massive injustice and people with wool pulled over their eyes, dancing to rhetoric, all the intention of the founding fathers thrown out the window and the exact things they wanted to stop happening, happening rampantly. what the frack?

good luck Obama you must have the shitiest job in the world

He is a servant, an employee, of the people as EVERY other president before him was. He is not here to “rule”. He is here to govern and to protect and uphold the Constitution.

Which brings me to my next point. I dislike the “coronation” aspect to inaugurations that I have seen in my lifetime. I’m not picking on Obama’s inauguration in particular; I’ve seen it in several previous inaugurations including both Bushs’. I think we need to return to more of a signing in of a citizen President and away from anointing a king.

Agree 100%. I missed the speech live, huge hangover, but when I flipped on the TV as Obama was leaving one of the commentators said something about the “sacred” office of the presidency. Nothing sacred about it at all, in fact it’s blasphemous to say that. The president is just a politician elected to run the executive branch of the federal government for four years. That’s it. We need to get back to thinking that way.
I also agree 100% with both of you he is just a “king” or is the office “sacred”. he’s just a man with the job of president.

Obama inauguration sets another record! Hope they purchased Carbon offsets from Chairman Al to make up for their environmental sins.

Also worst inauguration stock market loss in recent memory.

When Obama uses lofty, motivating language you trolls accuse him of dodging the details.

When he gets down to business, you whine about him lacking inspiration.

Not that you’re biased or anything.

Why can’t people just understand Obama sucks not because he is black but because his ideas suck? He is the same as Bush II wrapped into a different ideology, an ideology that isn’t going to “fix” anything.

Plus, I think Obama’s worshipers are much more berserk than Bush’s ever were.

Yeah, this is going to be business as usual. Government cannot fix anything. They can only make things worse. But maybe they can start an other war so we can send off all of our brothers and sisters to die so that they don’t have to suffer here with everyone else. That’s one way to fix the unemployment statistics.

This statement scares me:
“The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works – whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified”

Bullshit. I’d rather live in a hollow log then have the government control my life. I hate how much it controls it now. Thi
Imagine if the market soared yesterday. Who would get credit?

Not him, at least not by people like you. You would find some other reason for it, just like you claim Obama is to blame for that now.

The entire economy is one big Ponzi scheme at this point. We’re printing money like crazy and hoping our children and (that we aren’t having) and China will make up for it.

Considering the financial class is mostly Democrats, I find it hard to believe that Obama’s election sparked a big sell-off.
