Not really sure where to post this, but I had a dream about Professor X last night. Oddly enough, he was working full time on a low-income housing project thing and he was really excited about it. Two things to note: he’s much less abrasive than I might have expected and he really isn’t THAT big. According to my subconscious, at any rate.
It was a really weird dream and I woke up with a giant case of WTF.

Seriously , you’ve been around since 2005 and you haven’t seen how many threads get derailed by people having a pop at Professor X over petty shit? Seems like a good idea to confine it to one thread.

No, I didn’t. I applied to three dental schools only and was accepted to all. Honestly, does this upset some of you? You really believed every dentist was some failed med school reject? Or does this just help you rationalize what you want to believe?
10 years of residency+med school compared to four years of dental and optional 1-2 year residency is reason enough for more people to choose that route.
You act like the DAT is so easy. It isn’t, and neither are the two board exams you have to take to get that degree/title.

I sent in my AMCAS 2 weeks ago, and I was only asking you that question because I was simply curious, asshole. I wasn’t attempting to belittle your career choice because I know it’s probably the smarter way to go if you want more time off with around the same pay.
And, how am I acting as if the DAT is so easy? All I said was that the MCAT is a bitch, which it is (I took it). If I were to talk about the DAT, I would say that it is beastly, but it still isn’t at the same difficulty level as the MCAT. And by the way, since we are comparing dick sizes, there are more than 2 board exams for the MD and then even more if you want to go into specific residencies.

I start reading this thread in the beginning, and it’s dentist-hate. I flip to the end, 22 pages later, and more dentist hate. I’m going to assume that everything in between is dentist hate and just say wow!
Also, to the guy talking about med school v. dentistry school and the idea that dentistry school candidates are med school rejects, I will just say anecdotally that the people I know who went to dentistry school are some of the more diligent/smarter people I graduated with, while I look at my friends in med school and it literally makes me afraid to go to the doctor’s office.
Me? I went the law school route. I think that we’re generally a more clever group than those in the medical-related professional schools (although we have an abysmally doltish lower end), but we don’t have nearly the threshold for punishment in terms of commitment and preparation involved in getting our certifications and such. And you guys study a lot more. Kudos to you on that end.
