The Gun Thread

I qualified Expert with this piece of shit, and that’s all I have to say about that.

And Macaroni? I would carry an FAL or an HK-91 before I’d carry an AR10. I’ve got nothing against Eugene Stoner personally, I just think that John Garand could kick his ass.

That said, I’ve never tried an SR-25, but I’ve heard good things.

Damn. Even a picture of the damn thing fucks up. Try again.

lol, is this better?

i’m pretty sure it was a FAL

So anyway, I got rid of the HK, the SPAS, the Colt 1911, and an AK-47 (which I’d still take before I ever carried an AR) before I went to Japan, and bought the M14 a few years before I came back.

I’ll never get rid of the M14, but now I’m itching for a handgun.

I love the Kimber Raptor .45, but I think I’m going to go with a Ruger Redhawk .45 Colt with a 4-inch barrel.

I’ll have the cylinder milled to accept .45 ACP for added versatility. I can use cheap 185- and 230-grain .45 ACP for practice, 225-grain Silvertips (in .45 Colt or ACP) for self-defense, and heavy Buffalo Bore cartridges for hunting.

A .45-caliber 325-grain flat-nose slug traveling at 1,325 feet per second ought to be enough to kill just about anything on four feet smaller than an Alaskan Brown bear.

curious, you’re looking for a handgun primarily to hunt with?

I lost all my guns in a tragic boating accident. :frowning:

smacks you upside the head
You better have a real good reason for not having it anymore, like having to sell it to avoid starving, or getting kicked out of your home.

I started a thread awhile back inquiring about a new rifle, well I finally purchased a 1939 Mosin Nagant.

Field stripped her, and everything looks A ok.
These rifles are known to be pretty damn reliable, loud, with a huge muzzle flash.

I took her to the range last Saturday and had a great time.
This was a big jump from my Winchester .22 but it was cool. Shoulder was definitely sore after this trip.

Anyways, this is pointless without pics so here are a few.

And if anyone else is a firearm enthusiast please feel free to share any and all information about your firearms/experiences.

My next purchase will either be a good pump shotgun, or Berreta 92fs.

Nice man I love my Mosins.
Ive got the carbine and the rifle theyre both a ton of fun and surplus ammo is so cheap

Later this week i’m going out to buy a CZ

Man I wish I had a picture of my uncle’s guns, it’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. He has an entire room filled to the brim and like huge ass safes lol.

I’ve seen things I didn’t even know existed hah. He has come cool stuff… Mp5’s, uzi’s silenced automatic pistols, ridiculous sniper rifles, AK-47, modified battle rifles that I’ve never seen in my life. I mean the list goes on forever, it’s insane. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had an RPG lol.

Varganir,

I’m in the market for a pistol - preferably for home defense. What are your thoughts on the Springfield Arms XDM .40S&W?

I’m curious to hear your thoughts… And HolyMacaroni’s as well.

Personally I think .40S&W is, well like its called, short and weak. Only reason it was created was because accountants couldn’t handle the 10mm.

Ammo isnt nearly as expensive as some would lead you to believe. And 180gr at 1350fps comes out to over 700ft/lbs

Of course I have a 10 so I’m quite biased. Althogh I’ve shot many .45acp and .40. None compare

Thanks for the reply… Would you be able to suggest a model that might be a better option?

How does the Taurus stand in reliability/durability.

I was under the impression that they were kind of crappy quality.

I don’t know how much you know about the round, google will bring up a ton of info though. It falls just below a .41mag as far as power goes. If you’re not opposed to glock, they make a g20(fullsize) or a g29(subcompact) like I have. Some people hate glock, if so there’s always the colt delta elite.

Its basically a 1911 thats chambered for 10mm. Theres also the S&W 610, its a revolver that shoots 10 or 40, using moonclips. Nice thing about the glock though, is you can get .357sig and .40 conversion barrels from lonewolf for about 115 bucks. So “three” guns for one.

Ten years ago that was the case, but now they’re a good buy for the money.

[quote]xb-C wrote:

They were. Then they stopped being horrible, but the stigma stuck with 'em pretty well. I’d say get one if you like the feel of it.

My Shootin’ Irons:

Taurus PT 24/7 OSS DS .45

1942 Izhevsk M91/30 Mosin-Nagant

Browning Buckmark .22 (my first gun)

Smith & Wesson Model 500 .500 MAGNUM

A .30-06 lever action Browning rifle whose name I never knew

A 12-gauge pump shotgun whose name I never knew

Wishlist:

Barrett M82A1/M107

.50 Beowulf Overmatch Plus

Barrett M98 Bravo

SR-25

An AK-47 clone that looks like a WASR-10 but isn’t a pile of shit (still don’t know what that would be, but I’m looking)

SIG P220 .45
