The "Free Market" Failure of the American Healthcare System

Yup, @Basement_Gainz attempts will fall on deaf ears and it’s unfortunate.

I think that tort reform could be the easiest political win in the history if politics. You want to reduce the cost of healthcare with the stroke of a pen? Then limit damages. Your loved one being killed or maimed by a medical mistake (or alleged mistake) is a terrible thing… But it shouldn’t be a lottery ticket.

The problem is the national lawyer’s guild is more powerful than the gun lobby and the green lobby combined.

Not to mention the fact that I don’t appreciate the government stealing my money in order to keep most of it and disperse some to families that I don’t even know so that they can have better health care. When did it become my responsibility to pay for another families medical needs?

Our founding fathers, if alive today, would all strongly disapprove.

Let’s hope that you nor none of your family ends up splattered across a Highway due to an accident…and you or your Loved ones require months of Intensive Care and Rehab, Zeb.

The Premiums you pay wouldn’t pay for the Helicopter Flight.

Simply because I do not want the US Government involved in health care does not mean that I do not want local people helping out their neighbors. Nor does it mean that I don’t want some sort of system where people can save their own untaxed money in a special plan that will help them with their medical needs if they ever need it. Nor does it mean that I don’t want various insurance companies bidding for business across state lines.

See Mufasa there is a big beautiful world out there where in a capitalist system businesses compete for your money thus driving costs down.

Oh…

…and let’s also hope that you and your family members do not contract some sort of horrible disease where their internal organs begin to malfunction and they lay their gasping for air suffering for days on end. If so you would find out quickly how really bad Obamacare is.

You need to expand your base of knowledge. Obamacare has harmed small business people and about 68% of all people work for small business?

Do less posting and more reading.

That was a weak retort, Zeb…but expected…

Ha ha weak? I put forth three different ways that would be superior to Obamacare. Not at all weak. And if we did these things hard working Americans would be better off as would about everyone else.

EIGHT YEARS to have a plan ready to “Repeal and Replace”.

GOP control of all three Branches of Government.

You sound more than silly, Zeb, when you continue to scream “Obamacare, Obamacare, Obamacare!!!”

Not at all silly. What was border line psychotic was when one of your democrat hero’s Nancy Pelosi said “you have to pass the bill first before you see what’s in it” when referring to Obamacare. Now I know you can’t be proud of that. But then there is little to be proud of regarding the democrat party. I understand.

And speaking of the democrat party…

They have gone so far left since the days of Bill Clinton but not far enough left apparently. I understand that Bernie Sanders wants to break away from the democrat party and start his own party. Gee…that would irreparably harm the democrats huh?

And I’m loving it

:joy:

And back on topic …

…“replacing it (Obamacare) with a good conservative alternative would cut federal spending by at least $1 trillion over a decade, and probably more. Only in Washington could repealing a huge federal program with a 10-year price tag of roughly $2 trillion be described as bringing about a “cost” increase.”

Isn’t that what Senate Republicans are doing now with their bill? If it’s psychotic, why are they doing the same thing re: lack of transparency?

Oh I agree that it is equally detestable IF in the end they vote on it without reading it.

But…we are not up to that point yet. Hopefully, it won’t get there.

First of all…I have, and never will be a fan of Pelosi, Shumer or the Far Left.

And guess what? There are GOP Lawmakers who don’t even know what’s being drafted now…

Once again…Where, oh where, is the Conservative “outrage”? (Hypocrisy would be a much better term…)

If they vote on it without reading it? HA…that would be awful and I don’t think it will happen. But let’s wait and see.

Fair enough?

That’s the kind of thing that I’m against.

Also, isn’t that guy in the middle Mark Sanford? I dislike him for other reasons.

Get ready for the deflection.

It has to do with the type of food consumed in America. Food that is specifically engineered to make people eat more of the garbage. This is of no concern to the food industry because there main objective is to make more money. That is what matters above all else. Wow how honorable and ethical.

Funny how other countries cover ALL citizens with less costs and often better results. But this can’t be admitted to, otherwise it will go against the “free market” ideology. And that is what is most important. Even though there are plenty of other countries doing this. Evidence has to be ignored to keep your ideology alive.

Another deflection as evidence must be ignored.

Then just uncover them.
