Na. He was younger than me. He just didn’t know much about lifting and threw out some random numbers lol
I just did. It’s worth it.

I accidentally stumbled onto the starting strength forums while trying to figure out how to get 531 forever out here on the other side of the pond. Wow, the hate is real. Unfortunately, the wit is not.
so basically a bunch of people doing a program that is known to be ineffective harshly criticize, in a passively aggressive way, one of the best programs in the world on an online forum?
nah, i don’t believe you. people don’t do this (yeah i just read some of the threads on that forum because of YOU)
Being smug about having the best beginner program is like bragging about your win:loss average in Candyland.
That’s equal to saying that your program is the best at making trainees move onto another program, haha
I’ve had my suspicions that I’ve become fat for a while but more than that, I’ve also become lazy. At first, I justified the lack of cardio, lax diet, low volume, and ample rest time as a means to get stronger. But then I had a realization that revealed how far gone I actually am: I get annoyed when I sweat during a workout.
The annoyance of sweat made me realize how infrequently I break a sweat during a workout and just how lazy I’ve become. The walls have come tumbling down. Why does it take 7+ sets to warm up for squats? Because I’m resting so long I’m not breaking a sweat! Why do my relatively lower volume workouts take 2 hours to complete? I’m not working fast enough to sweat! Fat? NO SWEAT!
That’s not the end of the world, I wouldn’t sweat it if I were you.
DAD’s COMPANY GOT APPROVED TO GO PUBLIC!!! It’s the first one of 2020 on the new index
Got any of them links? Lol
Edit: found it lol
I got a feeling Planet Fitness will be my best bet in a few months. Is their threshold for throwing members out really that low? Can I deadlift without getting thrown out? I usually have somewhat controlled eccentrics on my DL, but they do still make some sound when I set them on the ground.
I think it just depends on the manager/staff and their attitudes. I wouldn’t worry about it until there’s something to worry about.
I don’t think they have barbells based from videos I watched.
If this is true for all branches…well… that’s just sad
Eh, it’s a bit like going to McDonald’s and complaining that you can’t get a decent ribeye. Gotta tailor expectations based off what the store is in business for.
If my work didn’t provide me a free gym, I’d join a Planet Fitness. It’s a great value. You’d just need to get your heavy barbell work done somewhere else.
Gotcha. Sad.
Whenever I see people here obsessing about calories and all that…
Me: Ha! Glad I just eat what I want and don’t have to worry about that stuff.
Also Me: Hmm… I’ve been stuck at my weight for months now, gaining 5kg was harder than I thought
If I want to gain weight then I just eat naturally.
I naturally crave cheeseburgers, fries, pizza, and sweets. I throw in healthy stuff too, but my natural tendencies are truly American.
That’s pretty much my ideal diet. Scratch sweets and add in some enchiladas and I’m a happy boy/boy shaped blob of lard.
