When I first started lifting, it was in a gym that only had a few bars and they were kept on the racks or platforms rather than upright in a holder. Being inexperienced I couldn’t visually tell the difference between a 15kg and 20kg bar and I spent a lot of workouts wondering why my 5x5 60kg squats felt so much heavier than I expected.
Abandon the metric system, problem solved.
Confession: I’m not training for physique and I’ve never said “hey I wanna be as muscular as this guy” or anything like that… but I’ve been really jealous of Steffi Cohen’s shoulders and arms. I’m a guy ![]()
I don’t get how she stays so lean yet continues to get stronger
Genetics, hard work, dedication, lots of drugs
I have access to one of these
maybe I can be 1/3 or her. She is damn sexy though
I watched Dr. Schoenfield give a presentation at an NSCA conference online today and he showed this picture of Dorian Yates and said this was after six months of training. Six months!
Genetics can be cruel.
Truer words have never been spoken ![]()
Stop comparing yourself to other people. You know by now it doesn’t help.
I’m not. The comments above were very fitting with Brad’s presentation. His slides had that photo + a needle = Dorian as Mr. Olympia. ![]()
She has a LOT of muscle. Staying lean has nothing to do with getting stronger if it’s done right.
There is nothing wrong acknowledging the importants of genetics… It becomes a bad thing when its used as a excuse for failure even before trying to reach for a goal. .
His hair genetics are pretty fucking wild as well

Why? Every physique guy looks better.
Indeed but look at meadows and his hard work… he still looks AWESOME. Look at me right now despite my knees and whatever. Acknowledge my (our) height and I can attest that we definitely stand out in a crowd
Though I train with the France junior physique champion and I’m not too far from him, but I saw a doped pro and damn I looked tiny
I have some pretty good genetics. I’m not super large in the muscular category but I’m athletic enough to excel in most things. I’ve had a lot of fun with sports, and I continue to have fun recreationally. I don’t realize how blessed I am until I watch a wrestler try to play basketball. ![]()
I imagine that really depends on what you are into.
Small arms?
Many battles have been won by those.
