Um, @planetcybertron, I need to change my answer to your question about sweating. I’m wearing light gray shorts this morning and when I happened past a mirror, yeah, it looked like I’d peed.
Harsh.

More like that. I tried best to ignore my surroundings. I don’t think I’m a fit to work out alongside late millennials and Gen Z-era.
No shame on that point of view. If I had the option of only being able to lift in a commercial gym or prison rape. I would opt for the prison rape.
I was making a comment on @BrickHead post… I would prefer prison rape over having to train in a environment he described.
Prison rape over
20-something-year-old women: leggings and biker shorts, sports bras, hip thrusts, kettlebell swings, IPhone recordings and flicks
?
We all have our kinks I guess ![]()
Until you pointed this out - I was on bulldogs side.
smart ass…
Haha sorry man. This is the one thing I miss about commercial gyms. And also what makes me iffy about a home gym ![]()
Dirty old man, signing off.
Is it sad His post made me want to join a commercial gym? Yoga pants and booty workouts sound amazing.
They really are, you would not believe the amount of girls that come to my golds gym in nothing but booty shorts and a sports bra.
Based on your size, we can all safely infer that you’d be the rapist, not the rapee.
Since I am a petite female about to enter an American university, which would be most effective for fending off potential rapists:
How trained are you?
$.02, 1, 3, 2, 4 best to worst
*Probably better to ask in “combat”
Using good judgement when selecting your friends, dates, and social outings. Don’t walk alone at night - especially in dark places.
Random attacks on women aren’t common. Most sexual assaults are committed during or right after a party or during a date. You can reduce your chances of becoming a victim to almost zero by making good decisions.
Lastly, carrying a weapon of any kind is useless if you don’t practice and plan to use it. Playing the “what if” game in your head can go a long ways to preparing yourself.
Spot on. If you’ve never had to hurt someone to defend yourself before you have absolutely no idea if you will be able to or not when it comes down to it. Add to that a weapon and you’re effectively providing your attacker with a weapon.
Listen to the police man.
Seriously though- much like how most murder victims are said to be killed by those they know, most sexual assault are said to be committed by acquaintances/“friends” of the victim.
See? Damn grey material. Making us look bad and stuffs lol
For what its worth, I’m in college. And from one lady to another:
(Sorry for this long post)
I go to our downtown campus, but our main campus kept having issues with robbery a couple of years ago. Especially in the parking lot after 6-8pm. Authorities have done a good job of actually catching the folks who were doing it.
Most of them were late night students, but they’d always park in the same areas, and they’d go to their cars alone. Most of them just had stuff stolen while they weren’t present, but a few had actual encounters with the robber(s). So whoever or however many of the assailants were around, they would watch them. For quite a while. I’m not sure if the robber(s) had a gun or anything, but no one was killed from what the news had said.
I try to get good classes that start and end at decent times, but on the occasion where my semester has me leaving school by around 8, I tend to ask a cop to follow me to my car, or I Speed walk up to a group of people and trail behind them, or if I muster up enough confidence, and I see someone walking the same way, I just inform them of what I’m doing and for reasons of safety.
If you’ve got a vehicle, (idk if you can drive yet) on your way to your car, have your key in hand ready to unlock your car, get in, and lock your doors immediately. It’s best not to sit and fiddle with your phone, or paperwork. And definitely better not to be trying to find your keys to get into your vehicle. Be ready, Just get in, strap up and go.
If you’re going to be taking the public transit system, have a can of mace. I have three cans. One on my backpack chain, one on my keychain, and A smaller one I keep in my pockets. Worst case scenario, you empty that motherfucker as best you can, and flee however you can and call the cops. Typically there’s people on the public transit systems, even if they’re a bit sketchy looking, try to sit where there’s the most people. If you have to walk a longer distance to get to your home, mace is your best bet. Try to stay in well lit areas, and where there’s a dense amount of people.
Like the others have said, it’s worse to give someone a weapon to further try and hurt you with. With a can of mace all you do is just push down and aim. Don’t make it extremely obvious that you have mace, and don’t hesitate. Worst case scenario they snatch it from you, or use it on you. If something becomes sudden, already have your hand kind of hidden, gripping the can, and whip it out.
Side note:
In the event you’ve got a gun pointed at you, concerning a robbery. Stay as calm as you possibly can, especially if you’re by yourself, and give them whatever it is that they’re asking for. Typically money, or phone, or whatever jewelry it is. Just give it to them. If they wanted you dead, you would have been shot then and there. If the situation has time going by for a bit typically it’s just whatever is of value that they want, not your life. Don’t reach haphazardly, but tell them what you’re doing. “I’m reaching into my pocket/wallet/purse and getting x,y,z. Ok?” Don’t scream, don’t try to run, just cooperate.
I haven’t been robbed at gunpoint, but I myself have been sexually assaulted, granted years have passed since then, and while I’m not the least happy about what happened, my compliance at least left me with a mental scar, and not something much much worse. If you have the chance to buddy up, do so.
I don’t say this to scare you, just to help you.
But back on the subject of being prepared.
It’s not rocket science when picking a can of mace. Just a new one and at a decent price. It doesn’t need to be fortified with anything, because well…it’s mace.
But I’d just stay vigilant. Don’t freak out or anything, just stay prepared. In all reality I believe you’ll be fine.
Hope that helps. Good luck with your studies too.
Jesus christ the shit you women have to deal with… really quite sad. Not trying to white knight anyone here but of all the things I worry about and deal with as a man, getting raped isnt one of them.
