Makes sense. But then again, what would it feel like?
If they do it right, nothing.
That’s what I’m counting on, buddy.
I confess I filmed this warm up set PURELY to use in the future to shut people up when they say straps make your grip weak and belts make your core weak
I use straps and belt for all worksets. Mainly because I want to lift heavy weights.
Today, Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It came on YouTube during my workout. It was the first time I’ve heard it in 15+ years. I hit my most intense set of the day. I have nothing to confess. Big Willie Style was a sick fuckin album. I also just cursed more than he did his entire career. The man killed it.
Wild wild West is my fucking jam!
How do you listen to YouTube and train? My YouTube stops when the screen goes off…
You leave the screen on
It’s on my playlist, too, and has the same effect. “You, tryin’ to flex on me? Don’t be silly.” Just so fucking snappy.
He’s all about that Tnation healthy lifestyle too
Ciga-cigar right from Cuba-Cuba
I just bite it
It’s for the look I don’t light it
Respect will
I know since I started wearing a belt again on heavy work sets I feel that my midsection has been more activated. Now I actually have doms for a day or two after.
I confess that I have never, ever worn heeled lifting shoes (Olympic lifting shoes? I don’t know). I’m wondering if they would help me deadlift and squat better…form has been feeling very off lately. I spend my time focusing on cues instead of moving weight.
I don’t think a huge number of people wear them for deadlifts.
I did it once and noticed it hit my hamstrings in a different spot.
Yup. Very VERY few people wear them on deads, and those that do I imagine are using the deadlift as a clean assistance exercise.
I went years with Chucks and liked them just fine. Got weightlifting shoes and started using them for squats, but primarily because my squat helps build leg drive for pressing events, and I was those healed shoes for that. Otherwise, I’d have no issues going back to chucks.
I confess that, due to being incredibly sore from competing over the weekend, I’m probably going to do band and body weight work only for a couple days until I can move freely once more.
I think taking some time away from anything remotely heavy after a comp is probably pretty advisable.
That’s how you condition your body to quit! No no, quite the contrary: go for deadlift PRs.
My girlfriend was rubbing my back and said something along the lines of “this feels like someone else’s back” due to the inflammation and what not. Sounds like I should shoot for some PRs and keep her guessing.
