The End of Women’s Powerlifting?

Insert Tropic Thunder meme here….

I don’t think it’s purely biological. Very few things are.

But even ignoring that, we don’t understand the biology well enough to arbitrate who is and isn’t legitimately transgender, so it’s sort of a moot point.

I can’t think of anywhere else to use this so, here yinz go.

Use at your own discretion.

So maybe we (we here being in general parents and healthcare professionals) should pause and think a bit before we give extreme life altering hormones ans surgeries that can make one infertile to kids? Until at least they hit an age where science says rational thought is more likely, just in case they cease to identify as trans (Hint, that’s not a teenager).

Also don’t you think it’s interesting that many people say “i identify as (blank)” versus “I am blank”? Just some food for thought.

This is what is most bothersome to me. My good senses tell me that for a trans woman to actually BE a trans woman, she would need to have no visible male genitalia.

I get the “identifying” as a woman. Anyone should have that privilege. But if the person still has male genitalia, competing against women and changing in their locker rooms makes absolutely no sense.

Those “identifying” as a woman should be competing against the men and showering in the men’s locker room.

Here is where “perception is reality” is extremely in error.

Should this be enforced by law? If you’re being serious, who do you think should be assigned to this? Should it be pardoned vigilante justice? Or should capital punishment be sentenced in courts?

How severe would statements (overt signs of racism), or in this case, thoughts (“on the fence” is a state of mind) be, to warrant such a penalty? Or would it be any thought or statement about race someone considers offensive?

This always makes me giggle…

Transphobic…

Come on dude…

“He’s a transphobe”

Why? For using the word tranny? I believe gender dysphoria is a psychostric disorder (barring exceptions like being born intersex). Albeit in many cases an incurable one that can be treated with sex reassignment surgery in refractory cases.

Does that make me tRaNsPhObIc?

Out of curiosity… am I transphobic if I would refuse to date or have sex with a MTF individual EVEN if I couldn’t tell the difference between that individual and a biological woman?

Why are we worrying about these fringe issues when geopolitical affairs involving Russia, China and North Korea are actually worth worrying about?

Prioritising these fringe issues drives the right farther right and the left farther left

It’s polarising… and it has nothing to do with the lives of the masses.

Not to say you should discriminate… but for the most part things are pretty good for the LGBT community if we refer to western countries.

I’ll continue. Would this death penalty also be applied for mean thoughts and statements about other demographic groups? Would it apply to people who say or think mean things about overweight people, old people, children, religious groups, and so on and so on?

Jesus Christ this thread haha. A few comments caught my eye and now I feel obligated to respond.

Has homosexuality ever been proven to be sonething one’s born with.

I’m bisexual and would definitely say I was born that way. I’ve had feelings for both genders even before puberty. Even before I knew what sex was or about the differences between girls and boys, I somehow had crushes on both. I have no clue why; it just seems something that’s very innate, such as why I was naturally drawn to certain activites as a kid and not others. No abusive childhood. No weird cause or trigger. And like most bisexual guys, it’s very lopsided (like 99% towards women, only 1% at most to guys). For whatever reason, bi guys seem to be very lopsided one way or the other.

And in case this gets brought up: I wasn’t introduced to any LGBT media as a kid and had no clue what sexual orientation or homosexuality even were until after puberty. And since I have Indian parents, I barely saw any sort of sexuality in media as a kid/teen. And as for the “rising rates” of gay/bi guys… IMO, there are still a loooooooot of closeted gay/bi men out there, which is pretty easy to see if you’re bi/gay. I do think there is also a social contagion element, but seriously, a lot of “straight” men are super sus

That’s not exactly what I meant.

If one feels so strongly that they are indeed the opposite of their biological gender wouldn’t one just say “I am a trans man/woman” instead of “I identify as”?

Yes, by definition that would make you transphobic.

I’ve known enough queer people over the decades to know that some people are just wired that way. Gays, lesbians, bisexuals and even transsexuals have always been a part of society, unless you travel to certain parts of the world today where people who behave that way get imprisoned or executed. As a child of the 80’s and 90’s the presence of everything we now consider to be under the LGBT umbrella seemed self-evident to me by the time I was in high school. Of course, a lot of us back then naively thought racism as a nationwide public issue was in the rear-view mirror. What the hell did we know?

I would never have predicted that the decades-long gay acceptance movement would have been co-opted by this mostly unrelated phenomenon of transgenderism, but here we are in 2023.

Brick I’m not advocating for a law or policy to allow murder, that’s insanity.

That, quite obviously, goes in here:

It’s not phobic of anything to date someone not your type. That includes physical appearance and whatever genitalia package they may have.

If I wasn’t married and still in the dating pool I would not date a MTF because since I can remember I wanted kids of my own. That’s not phobic of anything. And it definitely doesn’t mean that person wouldnt be a great friend of mine. They just can’t be my partner because it is not what I am seeking.

Oh well that makes sense.

Tbh I always thought it was transphobic. Technically if not dating transpeople was transphobic then that would make me transphobic, but I wouldn’t care and would wear the title with pride if that kind of action made me transphobic.

I agree. I’d say at least 50% of men appear suspect.

Edit: IF we’re talking purely about feelings-I don’t believe anywhere near that many are covering up actual homosexual activity. Take a grown man wearing a 21 year old’s replica jersey…and not as a Halloween costume…maybe even as a Halloween costume…

Definitely so. And some of the biggest homophobes are closeted men.

@BrickHead

The whole shotgun and kkk thing, is moreso an expression/exaggeration of how I FEEL towards overt racists. So I was kind of being serious and kind of not.

I mean stuff like this^ makes me pretty happy.

But, a lot of that happening will have a very negative outcome on racial tensions I suppose.

The sentencing, or killing a 77-year-old?

Edit: How much actual harm do you think people who openly call black people “niggers” are causing these days? Have fun being the dude shoving Mary’s brother around:

Take out your anger on the Progressives who have harmed blacks instead of some old man suffering from dementia.
