The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Out Now

lol… Also along the line of selling enchanted daggers, i find if you go to the college of winterhold, steal the clothes boots hat etc from the wardrobes in the dorms then enchant them you can increase your enchanting skill real fast while making a pretty decent profit when it’s over. Also you can usually steal a bunch of soul gems from there.

I’m a Level 20 Breton, using mostly 2 handed weapons and some magic for range. Currently got an enchanted Dwarven Warhammer as my primary.

Trying to complete side missions takes forever, every time I finish one, another 3 pop up.

Still, amazing game so far. I’ve pretty much dropped Saints 3 and MW3 in my spare time for this.

Anyway, any tips on improving smithing quickly?
I told you raf! Never doubt me!

Smith a shit ton of Iron Daggers. You hear me. Iron Daggers! Light weight, easy to make, and can level you quick.
That worked like a charm good Sir, any guesses on how to level up my Alchemy?

Some monsters have the audacity to still be alive after being hit with my bow.

Obviously, they need a strong dose of poison.

Not my work, I took this from gamefaqs:

Alchemy

make damage magicka regen, damage stamina regen, invisibility, paralysis, and slow potions
these are worth the most and thus give the most experience

Dmg mag regen ingreds:
bear claws, blue butterfly wing, blue mountain flower, hanging moss, nightshade, spriggan sap, glow dust, spider egg, chicken egg

Dmg stam regen ingreds:
creep cluster, frost mirriam, giants toe (use these with wheat, trust me), histcarp, juniper berries, large antlers, silverside perch, skeever tail, wheat

Invisibility:
chaurus eggs, ice wraith teeth, luna moth wing, nirnroot, vampire dust

Slow:
deathbell, large antlers, river betty, salt pile

paralysis
briar heart, canis root, imp stool, swamp fungal pod

my favorites are hanging moss and blue mountain flowers… very easy to acquire and very good exp/value

Anyone beat Alduin yet?

It did indeed. Also, go into the Solitude Blacksmith and steal all their ingots. I think he had a good 30 Iron and 20 Steel ingots. That came in handy - I’m 95 on smithing now.

What strengths are you guys weapons at, and what are they?

I still have the Elven Warhammer, it’s at 111 damage.

What is the supposed time of completing the game anyway? I swear it could take weeks.

If you speedrun just the main questline you can do it within 3 hours.

@kaiser - people were complaining about how its too different from the other elder scrolls games, and theres not enough character customization.

well, i can’t complain.

I haven’t played any other elder scrolls games, besides maybe half an hour of Oblivion, and from what i’ve been playing Skyrim i’m happy as hell.

Too much character customization makes my head hurts anyway.

BTW the only problem I am having so far is my gay-ass horse being eaten by bears and stuff while I’m out adventurising about.

They need to fix em… takes too long to dismount and engage whatever is attacking me - horses shouldn’t get involved in combat IMO.
I think you should just be able to attack from horseback…

I was surprised and disappointed horses are still treated this way.
Absolutely. Especially when you are an archer or mage. You could easily fight with those skills. Its frustrating when you are galloping through the forest, come up on a pack of wolves, and have to climb down just to destroy them. Takes to much time when that happens 3 time from one location to another.
That would be cool, but I’d imagine you would always fight on horseback then since it would just be easier to do… And that kinda might take away from your characters own epicness.

What character did everyone choose?

I choose imperial for a reason I can’t remember. Thinking I will be a dark elf or high elf and start another character when I get board. Going to be a sneaky-mage next go round.

Does the cat night vision work worth a sh*t or is useless?
You still rocking 1h/shield for now though? I’m about lvl 15 now and I kinda agree having limited range attacks can be a tad uneventful with dragon fighting.

It sucks not having enough points for Magicka after trying to make a meaty warrior with Stam and Health.

x2 Sword n Board

Anyone playing on their PC would be wise to look into this. I have about 11 mods installed and it has greatly enhanced the look and realism of the game.

This game is fantastic. I wish i had more time for it. I wish i had all day for it damn.

Still Swinging the Mogul Bol mace. Damage is like 34? (36-ish, can’t remember)

I really need to find a better one handed weapon as I am now level 20 this mace inst cutting it.

Any Ideas?

I have made good strides in finding better armor though.
Have a full steal plate set and I am working on an Orc set.

I’ve got a Legendary Ebony war axe damage is 76. Full set of Legendary Ebony armour and Otars mask defense of 446.

After having off from work for a few days I managed to get to lvl 32. Legendary Daedric battleaxe has like 125 damage lol. I’m playing a Redguard who uses light armor so I can dodge and move quickly in combat. So far the only thing that proves a bit difficult is certain mage encounters. At around lvl 25 I killed 2 giants and 3 mammoths at one time using some superb hit and run tactics with the battleaxe.

Also, it is really easy to level up later on when you have like 20k gold if you train in areas that you haven’t been using. It gives you 5 free points towards your next level for like 2k gold.

So my mage is OP now -_-

How come when I block someone I still see their posts?
