Hmmmm…Hoegaarden

Miniross,

You have great taste man! Single malt whiskey is the only route to go. Combined with some German beers (Dusseldorf Alt)and some Scottish ales, you have a good party. Which “monk beer” are you trying? Some kind of Lambic?

ps. Yes I am a beer geek.

Chimie, a belgia trapist monk beeer.

It has a cork, like champagne!

Off to the off license now. (liquor store)

Damn north americans, haha…Oh how I miss the offys in Belfast…damn shite holes close early though.

As for the drink I must say. Guinness and Tennants is the way to go, tennants takes harp any day…and guinness is in a class of it’s own…as for whiskey… Chivas Regal is def one of best.

As for drinking I shall posting back soon…I am SO drinking this weekend…(not like I need to reassure myself.)

True, when I buy another bottle it’s gonna be something different.

For vodka I’d suggest silent sam.

Hoegarden…Beigian white beer.

So much nicer than all that barley shit.

Try it. you will be a convert
Crap! The place I went to tonight had Hoegaarden on tap, and I didn’t try it. I will have to go back soon. And BTW folks, Guinness - spell it with two n’s and two s’s - learn it, live it, love it.

Hoeegarden is the shit…

By far my most favorite beer. For us Canadians, a comparable beer from Quebec would be Blanche de chambly, it’s just delicious!

I love beer and yes I will be consuming some tonight!

Giddy up!

T

Hmmm…rarely do I go online, especially T-Nation when I’m drunk. Why would that be a fun activity to do when drunk?

Chimay! Very good stuff. Try the Grand Reserve (blue label I think?). I’ve never really tried white beer. I’ve always been a wee heavy and porter kind of guy, but tonight I think I’ll get some Hooengarden to go along with Friday Night Fights. I’ll report back.

I had hoegarden Grand Cru. 8.5 Percent.

Very rasty indeed.

Wow, I didn’t know that this has already been bumped this weekend until I searched for it.

Well, here’s to another weekend where I will be drinking.

I’m finishing off the bottle of Bacardi Limon that I bought last week, then I’ll probably be sober for a few more months before doing it again.

And yes, when my wife and daughter are sleeping in a room right next to where I’m at, drinking, listening to some music, posting on T-Nation and playing some online games is actually fun for me.

Well, maybe not as fun as many other things, but it’s enjoyable enough to pass the time when I don’t feel like going to sleep early like every other day of the week.

Whoa…its Friday. I’m drunk…again.

Yea buddy

Guilty as charged. Working my way thru 1.75 liters of Dewar’s White Label that had been sitting in my father’s liquor cabinet for the past 35 years (we’re emptying his house). When that’s done, in another week or so, it’ll be back to my usuals (Johnny Walker Black, Bass Ale and Guiness).

Chimay is an odd one yeh. I remember it was about 5 or 6 years ago I was working in NYC and going to this bar down in the village. They had Chimay for $16 a bottle. I looked at it all week and finally bought one. It was kinda like that scene in Pulp Fiction with John Travolta, I told the bartender $16 for a beer, I gotta see what a $16 dollar beer tastes like…

Cheers,

RW

I thought I’d give this a bump, on account of it being Saturday night and of account of me being less sober than any of you.

I’m drinking tequila shots, smoking a fat stogie and watching the 13th Warrior. Again.

Enjoy, little brother.

Bastard. I am tee total tonight and my GF has gone out. I have been building my house and would kill a brew.

Have fun anyway.

Sod.

If i’m in a scotch mood I like Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Famous Grouse, and Sheep Dip.
Jack is the best sour mash I think, but I still think that the best affordable whiskey is kentucky bourbon, be it Jim or Turkey.

talking Whiskey, go to be something 12/15/18 years old, like Glenmorangie or the like.

Single Malt, genuine Scotch.

Not like that Colonial nonsense that you make over there.
Feel the rath of double-distillation and choice charcoal filtration!

Oh god Smirnoff is the worst shit you can drink. Talk about nasty cheap liquor.
smirnoff tastes worse than McCormicks, and that shit is about 10 bucks a handle.

The only way to drink vodka is with milk, bailey’s, and kahlua. Anything else and you can either taste the vodka, or you aren’t putting enough in to get drunk.

On a tangent, I love having a hot chocolate with some wild turkey in it. This is what I usually drink at the bar when I go skiing.

Jim Beam is the reason I quit drinking alcahol other than beer…

… For a while.
