You are joking right? If not, I’ll add Winger, Stryper, Saigon Kick, Saxon, Poison, and Europe too.

Hey, don’t pick on Saxon, they always had good riffs (Dallas 1PM, Strangers in the Night)…I’m wearing a Saxon T-shirt as I write this/;-D…

What do you guys think of Nile? Magazines like Terrorizer and Metal Hammer just worship them, but I think they’re just frickin terrible!! Sure, I’m into death metal just as much as anybody else, but man, Nile is just awful in my opinion! People used to make fun of Morbid Angel because of the unintelligible lyrics, but I make fun of Nile for it these days.
That’s because Nile is really good musically, they’re just a borefest after 2 songs.

Exactly, they’ve got decent riffs and their change-ups are great, but lyrically, there’s NOTHING appealing about them at all, IMO.
What do you guys think of Cannibal Corpse? I saw them last year on the Sounds of the Underground tour and they were horrendous. I have seen some other live footage where they were great though. I can’t stand their fans though. Most of the ones I saw there were hillbilly trailer park trash.

I am not a big fan of Cannibal Corpse. They do have the most creative song titles though. “Entrails ripped from a virgins cunt”, I mean, who can make a more death metal song title than that.

I don’t really listen to death metal. The only CC exists is for the bass intro on hammer smashed face. I do like In Flames if you consider their early stuff to be death metal.
Gates: Isn’t Amon Amarth viking metal? Whatever, I’m just glad to see lots of metal fans on here.

CC’s lyrics have always made me giggle, but Alex Webster has always been an influence of mine, as well as Corpsegrinder so I like his growling style.
Decipatated-sphears of madness. Play the beginning LOUD
On bigger than everything
In the crown of your own self you preach darkness
Yet would you be able to obey the lack of light?
Darkness, light, word, existence
Could it be false?
Salvation is nothing- nothing is salvation
My band Archaeon played a badass cover of that song back in the day.
If there’s one thing that’s definately funny about some death and black metal bands, it’s their choice of song titles/lyrics. I don’t know who sings this, but a professor of mine asked me what kind of music I listen to, to which I replied mostly death and black metal.
he then laughed at me and asked if that’s the kind of music where they “talk about feasting on the blood of the insane”. LOL. I don’t know who sings it, or if it’s even a song, but it just made me laugh, thinking about it.
“Feast on the Blood of the Insaaaaaaaneeeeughhhh!”

I really like melodic death (Ammon Amarth, Children of Bodom, In Flames, Wintersun, Hypocrisy). Ammon Amarth is one of my favorite metal bands and kick ass gym music.
I sometimes listen to more classic death metal bands (Obituary, Six Feet Under, Bolt Thrower, Entombed). Never got to like Cannibal Corpse, though.
Anyone, heard of the now again defunct Austrian death band Pungent Stench (I was born in Austria)? Some really sick, but at the same time funny texts.
Next week, I will go to a Dark Tranquility show (That is, if my friend managed to get tickets).
