Not really dating related, but I’ve found a perfect substitute for my friend (that one). This dude is a grad student who was in one of my classes.
He’s always down to hang out and discuss Econ. We ended up spending a lot of the weekend together.

Had a really great time last night. The team also gets along well with him
Some reflection:
- It feels somewhat nice to actually have someone like me
- This won’t be a long term thing. Im ending the contract May 2023.
- It’s so time consuming… my productivity on weekends have tanked. I get why my friend (that one) was so clear about not getting into a relationship. My justification is that ERC treasurer has a girlfriend

My contractual counterparty is coming to visit me in FL
I told mum. Here’s how the conversation went:
Me: friend is coming to visit me in FL
Mum: great! Wait… male or female…
Me: …. Uhh… male…
Mum: boyfriend? Asian or white
Me: no and he’s Indian
Mum; you know it’s okay if you have one. Just stay safe
Me: don’t worry. He’ll stay in the other room and I’ll lock the door to my room.
Mum: oh, well I didn’t mean that. You know I brought your dad home a couple of times when we were in uni

In English, I can’t tell if you mean an Indian from India or an Indian from America - Navajo, Apache, etc., because it is spelled one way. In both cases, your mother was misled :-), because if she is from India, she is still in Asia. If he is an Native American, he belongs to the Mongoloid race, and your mother must have meant an Asian in that sense.
I’m kidding, it doesn’t matter, but I just didn’t understand what you meant.
