The Dark Knight Rises

IMO, Blade is the best comic movie made to date. I’m not sure what it is about it, but I don’t get the “itch” to watch other comic book movies over and over like I have with that one. 2 and 3 I can take or leave, but the original is just bad ass.

Agreed…but the point is, they were taking a risk making a movie about a black super hero and were very prepared to hide their hands if it failed. There hasn’t been any other Marvel movie made without the logo or the intro. In fact, I doubt most people who saw the movie even know he is a Marvel character.

But yeah, I liked the first and the second one. The third one fucked up everything by making Blade a secondary character in his own fucking movie.

And Snipes just fell off the face of the earth. I know he has had some bit roles in a few movies and has done the really bad B movies. Very sad cause I always enjoyed his acting.

I wonder why, then, they decided to do a movie with that character instead of another much more popular one they thought would be better received?

Yes, the third one was a joke.

They did the movie because Wesley Snipes created a viable character that they thought would maybe make SOME money. When Del Torro was signed up for the second movie, it was clear it was a hit by that point.

I really don’t think they expected it to stand out like it did. To this day, I bet there are quite a few that would rather they see one more Blade movie than yet another Twilight.

Snipes owned that character. Not to mention that the special effects were pretty damn good. And I’m sure, as you seem to suggest, that pairing a comic hero with a vampires, which have always been popular, really helped it in the mainstream.

There is a black Batman - Stan Lee did a limited run for DC where he reinvented DC’s best known heroes.

He’s in jail serving three years for tax evasion. I thought they’d worked that out but he’s been fighting his sentence ever since it first hit the news.

How and the fuck does something like this happen? How does somebody with millions not have an accountant that manage there money? If the accountant fucks up then shouldnt he go to jail?

I don’t get it either but apparently it’s something a few Hollywooder’s (is that a word?) do. I heard Nicholas Cage has had to sell a castle or two du to owing taxes.

In my mind their careers are like a business, they should run it that way. But they do live in fantasy land and maybe they start to believe their own bullshit.

Oh well sorry to derail thread, now back to Batman and the endless debate of is it going to suck or not.

They are in jail: one serving ten years; the other four, since 2008. IMO, this sort of thing can happen very easily if you earn millions per movie, and become too reliant on other people kissing your ass instead of covering it. You simply lose track of the value of money if you give somebody else that responsibility. I don’t know how WS ended up where he is, but in all honesty, he of all people shouldn’t have to serve a jail term for tax evasion.

His earning power at least should give him a bargaining chip to pay off his debts with interest (earnings from one movie a year should do it), and avoid a jail term, but no, they have to lock him away as “an example”.

Not smart, now I really think he is believing his own hype. I WILL NOT go to jail for money issues.

Black Panther has so much potential to be one of those Dark Knight time movies, but from what I’m seeing from Marvel I have my doubts. Like the Thor movie, Kat fucking Dennings making one liners only an 11 yr old would laugh at. Fuuuuucccckkkk that is going to get annoying. These movies need serious directors only. I mean imagine a Daredevil film with Nolan at the helms.
