Yeah, my issue is that I find it hard to get the balance right between speed and efficiency, wherein I either take a hell of a long time to do something and get it halfway decent or I rush through and leave it as still kind of a shitty mess as it was to begin with. I try to volunteer about 30 minutes/1 hour either way outside of my hours so the damage is minimised and I can run through quicker during actual work periods, but I’m not really allowed to do that.
That must at least show them your sincerity and seriousness.

I’d keep an employee who did that.
Mmm, one or two of my coworkers like me because of it, and they’ll tell me my biggest fuck ups from the night before that I overlooked so if my boss checks back up on the same thing without telling me about it in between he won’t get quite so pissed off, that kind of helps to keep me hanging on.

There is also the whole “well, at least he can’t complain when we keep him a perpetual staff” side of it too.

We all need grinders, and I’ll take a slow grinder that understands his or her weakness, over an ambitious person with equally irritating tendencies.

Kahuna, if they are comfortable and you are comfortable, don’t mess up a good thing worrying about things you can’t control. Try to get a little bit better everyday, and don’t ask for raises you don’t deserve, keep your mouth shut, nose down and grind. You should be fine.

Agreed. Has to be according to the workplace.

However I will take someone who is more accurate than inaccurate no matter of time. Personality has something to do with my job.

Hey man you know who I am in real life and who I am married to. If you are unwilling to honestly look at your life and not admit to your own faults and shortcomings then you are never going to grow as a man.

I have one really close friend (besides the wife) in my life, Doogie. He has known me since I was 15 years old. He will confirm I am one of the most goal oriented, stubborn, driven individuals he has ever met. I have had some awesome influences in my life that I listened to when I was growing up, and that was well into my 20’s.

I think I’ll start to compile a list of top priority areas for each workday, and see if it puts me in a better flow of maintenance through and after the following week to keep my head above water, and maybe come up with some other plan if it backfires on me. Thanks for the tips guys, maybe I can get on the right track soon.

What I find a lot of people cannot do is prioritize or delegate. Everything is #1 priority. This is just not the case.

Reading the landscape and knowing your job takes some time.

How long that takes is what determines if I fire someone or not.

Here is what I would do:

Make lists
First list - What is expected of me (ask superiors if you are unsure)
Second List - What parts of list 1 and I good at
Third List - What parts of list 1 am I bad at

Then I would make sure I got very much and consistently better at the things on list 2, while trying to improve list 3. If you can grow list 2 beyond things that are on list 1, while maintaining (or shrinking) list 3’s size, you’ll be the type of person people like to keep around.

Just made chocolate chip banana bread.
Pooped over a park bench drunk one night.
My chi factor is now level.

That sounds like a brilliant idea, I’ll get to work on that in the morning when I have a couple of hours to put it all together and see if I can plan ahead with it.

If I were to partition my response, the motif for each partition would be my aggregate superiority. Obviously in jest. Jest, I say.
