Just curious. My ancestors didn’t come over to America until the 20th century. We were poor farmers in southern Italy. They came here and became farmers. Lost their land during the great depression. My grandfather used to tell me stories from the Great Depression about waiting by trains for coal to fall off so they had some to burn.
They lived in poverty. My grandfather joined the military in the 40’s and then worked multiple jobs after to work his way out of poverty. My family is middle class. Now let me ask you. How am I or my ancestors responsible for what happened to your ancestors? What reparations do I owe you? How have I oppressed your people?
