As for my own ‘obstinacy’, I would be happy to retract any errors/mistakes anyone can indicate to me. I have enough character and ‘open mindedness’ to do so.

You may have noticed I haven’t been making fun of oleena. To be fair I think she was completely muddling the Crimean War in which Britain, France(Napoleon III), the Ottoman Empire and Sardinia alligned and defeated Russia. The toll of the conflict was a contributing factor in the continued decline of Ottoman power. Unlike orion, bambi, Lowe-1 and others oleena has not been deliberately provacative/offensive nor made comments in extremely poor taste. I hope she possesses some of the ‘open mindedness’ her video espouses.

What could be clearer? Oh, the Ahmadinapologist–who soon will claim he was in the audience that day–is hearing something else again. He hears Admadinejad’s political “purpose” for Holocaust denial, as if that legitimates it, and himself.

Most people who post about Israel, ie against it, I’ve noticed, tend not to want to learn about the issues present in the conflict nor its origins etc, but simply want to post against Israel. They start from an a priori position that Israel is wrong and establish an argument which they stick to even if it’s full of holes and chasms odf ignorance, such as the prevalence of Islamic jihad in the ME right from its inception, for instance.

Actually ‘perservering in the face of obstinacy’ was worded fine. Also, duncery is considered archaic.

I also tend to post in a hurry and these pro/anti-Israel threads tend to draw in all the nuts like moths to the flame. I can get overwhelmed sometimes trying to determine who’s nuts and who’s just misinformed. Often the misinformed are also dumb/stubborn and I have to explain things to them over and over again. Hence the video of Martini playing blackjack. It also reminds me of the one where Martini is playing Monopoly with Harding.
