I enjoy the training hard and dieting for a competition, but struggle with all the other things that go into it. (Posing, working on symmetry, tanning, shaving, etc).

I have a crooked pelvis and scoliosis, and am working on poses that will hide the curvature and imbalances. I think putting weight on my front leg and turning into the pose hides it the best and helps keep the waist looking smaller. Here are a few pictures that my wife took. Thinking that I have about 5lbs to go in the next six weeks.

The last one (side) is your best pose. Captures pretty much everything.

Looking lean and mean mate. Wee bit of tan on will really bring that definition on. Fantastic shape.

Do you have 5lbs of fat to lose?

Honestly, with all I’ve heard about legitimate contest preps, if he’s not feeling run down, lethargic, and maddeningly hungry, then he can cut more calories and lose more fat. Sounds scary, but that’s the prep grind for you.

Yeah to be competitive I really need to be closer to 5%. So roughly 5-6 lbs. I’m not doing much cardio right now and am around 2200-2400 calories a day so I have room to manipulate.

The struggle will be maintaining mass. It’s an NPC show so won’t be tested and without a serious pre contest cycle it’s easy to eat up some of your muscle mass when cutting.

I’m only on my TRT dose and sermorelin, which will help but not to the extent of a full cutting cycle. But I feel good, and my ding dong works so I’m happy!

Yeah it’s a mental game for sure. Increase volume and intensity and decrease calories. You feel fantastic :joy:

Thanks man. I agree. I think I’m overly critical as well. If I take photos it’s generally after a workout and I have a pre workout meal, shake, and a bunch of water in my belly so I always feel a little full in the middle. Need to do some research about the right protocol for the week land days leading up to the show

My man :sunglasses:

Had a great workout overall today. Mixed it up a little and went for mostly pump work. Finished up feeling like a freaking balloon lol.

I’ve made an adjustment to my nutrition and have taken carbs out of meal 5. My carbs are down to 150 grams daily, and I’m going to up my cardio to 7 days per week starting tomorrow. Protein is around 250-275 and fat is under 40. I’m still feeling pretty good, but am getting hungrier and a little more easily fatigued.

Veins are starting to appear in places I’ve never seen them before like around my ribs and under my pecs. I can only imagine what it’s going to be like in 5.5 weeks.

Biceps and back

Ez bar wide grip curls
3 x 28 @ 65lbs 7 full, 7 upper, 7 lower, 7 full
Standing isolation dumbbell curls 3x15 each arm @ 30lbs

Superset
Lat pull downs 3x15 @ 200
Cable rows 3x15 @ 200
Low cable rows 3x15 @ 200

Straight arm bent over lat pulls 3x15 @ 140

Ez bar narrow grip curls 45lbs - as many reps as I could do in a minute. 40 first set, 42 second set

Lat pull downs 150lbs - as many reps as I could do in a minute. 45 first set, 38 second set

Shoulders tomorrow! Oh yeah and… cardio :disappointed:

Been working this year on getting some of the old gymnastics skills back. First Cody full I’ve done in probably 20 years. It wasn’t pretty but I made it! Man I wish I had the desire to learn and grow that I have now when I was 20.

1000 rep workout. I’m gonna give it a shot. Five sets for each muscle group and 20 reps each set

Chest
Flat dumbbell press
Flat dumbbell fly
Incline dumbbell press
Incline dumbbell fly
Cable iron cross

Triceps
Narrow dumbbell press
Dips
Overhead rope extensions
Rope pull downs
Dumbbell kickbacks

I’m going to need a full tank for this one so I’ll do it this afternoon after a few meals. Hope to finish!

Is that your warmup routine mate ? lol. I always train high volume, possibly too much at times. 2 hour sessions is pretty common for me. Its more a means to stay out of the house and forget family life for a while, plus I like feeling wrecked afterwards.

A few years back I was training more higher intensity, get in get it smashed and leave within an hour. Its good to switch it up, becomes more interesting when you are used to the same old grind. I’m sure you will be busted after that one lol
