The Blues.

Otis Rush - I can’t quit you baby

CCR - Working Man… strays from classic delta blues obviously, but some good blues rock on their first album.

You notice he doesn’t have a left handed guitar- he just turned the E-335 upside down, but it’s not restrung either. (I don’t know that they even made lefty guitars at that point. Maybe but this ain’t one). The treble strings are up top and the bass strings are bottom.

He learned to play the guitar upside down.

I just read an article that stated that the famous SRV#1 stratocaster used to be owned by Cristopher Cross before SRV purchased it lol.

That Bonamassa dude sounds like Robin Trower.

I wonder if Freddie King used heavy gauge strings like SRV did, those bends are crazy!

I’m liking Buddy Guy lately.

Fuckin’ A - Freddie King.

King of guitar phrasing.

No Freddie King, No SRV. Period. You hear so much Freddie King in SRV. Major influence. All those long, high-step bends? Freddie King.[/quote]

Clapton also.

Haha, I actually learned that as I was posting the vid. This thread got me to do a bit more reading on Wiki.

Emphatic awesomeness right there; a life lesson in figuring shit out for yourself and still coming out ahead of the pack.

newer blues

Delta Blues

Big Mama Thornton Blues her last show

local South Carolina Bluesman Drink Small

My favourite Blues musicians are:

Buddy Guy
Muddy Waters
Dr. John
B.B King
Blues Brothers lol

Loo-thuh!

Lot’s of good stuff here.

One of my favorites, R.I.P Chris Whitely. Can’t believe I passed up a chance to see him at a small venue a year before he died. Not sure this is blues, but he plays a mean National steel and has so much pain in his voice.

Got to love youtube. Three legends, the guy in the middle is Lonnie Mack although he is not mentioned.

You beat me to Lonnie Mack.

Again, no Lonnie Mack, no SRV.

(i’d post video’s, but i’m at work and my IT dept blocks youtube.)

Brother C, Hank Williams is more country/western than blues. ;]

Loves me the John Lee Hooker. Big fan of the gun-in-mouth blues as well.
