The Bloop

As a kid I used to love reading about UFOS, ghosts, and sea monsters. It was greatly disappointing to learn in my adult life that most haunted houses were likely a result of carbon monoxide-induced hallucinations, that aliens intelligent enough to build a ship capable of transversing galaxies could only learn so much by probing the rectal cavities of inbred, moonshine swilling rubes, and that Loch Ness is completely devoid of any large aquatic mammals. You come to think of “science” and “reason” as that annoying, intellectual dipshit at a party who interrupts interesting stories by saying “Well, actually…”

Then, you read about something like this:

This sound was heard 5000km away. Several scientists have gone on record that they believe this sound must have come from a biological organism, due to its acoustic fingerprint, but the power and magnitude of it FAR exceeds even the largest blue whale (capable of 850km and 190 decibels). Giant squids have been ruled out, as they are apparently without the organs needed to produce such sounds.

The sound was only heard once, and traced to a deep part of ocean west of the most southern point in South America.

What the hell caused “the bloop”? And while we’re on the subject, what are some other unexplained phenomenon you’re interested in?

There was one that came from space not too long ago. I’ll find the link.

^^ is that the 1977 thing where the interstellar radio thingy picked up a coherent signal for a few seconds and the guy wrote “Wow!” next to it?

Scroll to #1 on the list, at the bottom.

Vash beat me to it. What I’m talking about is somewhere on that list.

The photoshops from that article are hilarious.

I’m fascinated with the paranormal. I’ve been so traumatized from the events below I can’t watch movies about possesion or haunted houses as a result, hits too close to home.

The house I lived in was haunted(it’s being rebuilt it burned down last May), most of my family has died in the house grandparents great grandparents etc, it’s been in the family since the 20’s. Anyway I’ve been taking care of my mom and dad since '02 and the room I slpet in was where my grandma died in '99, horrible death tough old woman had stomach cance rshe refused to treat had a broken leg and she was stroking out every 15 minutes. Anyway one night I’m trying to sleep and I look into my closet and I see a face, almost looked like a preist and two other faces peering at me. I just blew it off said I was half asleep it was a dream whatever. Flash forward to my sister taking over the top floor of the house and my mom(now in a wheelchair) living downstairs my nephew now slept in my old room. Well my sister out of the blue comes over to me and says “have you ever seen anything in your room?” I ask why and she tells me about the three faces my nephew Jack saw in his closet, creepy. Then there’s the black cat that you can only see out of the corner of your eye and ONLY when something traumatic is about to happen, she showed up one day my sister saw it and went into labor gave birth to said nephew, my mother saw it and 10 minutes later she get’s a call from Cali saying her brother had passed away.

Or that “alien abductions” are actually hallucinations caused by something ( sometimes environmental factors) that causes the body to release way too much DMT at one time.

Look at research by Dr. Rick Strassman

I see what you did there

The coordinates of the Bloop were rather close to the fictional sunken island of R’lyeh. So according to the works of HP Lovecraft Cthulhu may come out of his island and play with us fleshy things. I say we’re all screwed.
