The Big C

Hi Renton. The big C is aptly named isn’t it… as in the big CUNT.

I hate cancer. It seems like it is just a matter of time really, for most of us. On our heels in a way… but it can only get its teeth in so far mate, if you keep running. As for Lymphoma, well fuck that little weakling. My best friend kicked its ass and so can you. She’s alive and lives on just as you will. I know dark times will come when words don’t mean shit and it will be you with yourself, and I will think about you having those times and I will wish with all my heart that you fight your way out. Whatever may come, above all I wish you peace.

Sincerely,

Jillian

Sorry to hear that Renton.

I have often wondered how I would handle that news myself, hopefully it would be with as much strength and courage as you have.

Kick it’s ass.

Renton, Sorry to hear the news. Lymphoma can be beat. When you feel like shit (and you will), remember that the cancer cells feel worse and smile. Kill the little buggers!

I am going through this with my son right now. We’ve just been told that his first sessions weren’t enough so we’ll do another.

You are the greatest support your family has right now. It might seem strange but they need you more than you need them!

Maybe we can arrange a long-puking competition, but I warn you, My son has trained for a long time.

TQB, sorry to hear the first go round wasn’t enough for your son. I can’t imagine the pain of this happening to your child.

Best of luck with this go round,

Ray

Having lost my oldest cousin to intestinal cancer in March and watching my friend’s mother battle ovarian cancer at the moment have been two very rough points this year. I have lost others but these two were affected by cancer.

I myself am at a huge risk for certain cancers.

I read your post and, immediately, the three things that stuck out in my mind were the boy you saved, the kitten, and the picture of you sitting atop a mountain peak like the badass that you are.

You are a man of ethics and good will and you will be sitting on top of whatever cancer there is, like that mountain peak, laughing in triumph very soon.

People like you may go through a lot - I know you are diabetic as well - but being a good father, good neighbor and overall decent human being means that you will be able to take the worst of Murphy and his laws and shove it down his goddamn throat.

Keep us updated and don’t miss any appointments.

I never know what to say to news like this,… but I won’t treat this as a done deal. People get news like this and fight, and win every day, and Renton’s not one to just roll over.

We’re all behind you brother, and you will be okay after the ordeal.

S

Renton,

I sent you a PM.

Cancer sucks - but welcome to the club.
Fight like hell.
Fuck Cancer.

If you need any help with diet or training while going through treatment let me know.

It sucks that I became an expert on this but if I can help - let me know.

AC

Best wishes for you my good Sir.

Im quite sure you will kick the bejayzuss out of the cancer or else show it the very weird pictures people are promising it will run away scared !

Never a good thing to see an Englishman afflicted with such a shit disease.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

Ren,

Like Emily I’m freaking out a little (a lot actually) because you’ve actually been on my mind all day today. And the reason is because I had an erotic dream last night, and for the first time ever it was someone from online. You.

I wasn’t going to post about it because…well, for obvious reasons.

Fuck man…just kick its ass. Put it on your back and squat it 7,000 fucking times until you snap its spine.

You are a champ brother and I sincerely will be praying for you.

Fuck cancer.

After my surgery (almost 2 years ago) I had lots of fun going out and scaring people with my bald head and scars. I looked like something from a Tim Burton movie. Looks like you won’t have to worry about those changes, though. Since you have so little hair anyway.

Take care of yourself. Or I’ll have to fly over the pond and give you a beating.

P-Bass > cancer.

You’ve got Canada on your side, pal. Noone has ever lost any battle with Canada on their side.

Here’s to a quick battle and a quicker recovery.

Seriously Rents, this is what happens when you’re all altruistic and kitten-rescuey and stuff. You need to go out and be a real bastard and this shit will clear up right quick.

Vic you cock sucker!!

No worries brother, once it sees how ugly you are it won’t want to stay with you. My prayers are with you and your girls.

Bleating, as in sheep???

Get off the Woolite, sen say.

P-Bass > just about everything.

I’ll play some funky bassline for Renton.

I sincerely hope that this is just a ploy to get the girls to don nurses outfits for you.

Good luck… you have a great attitude.

We all know Rents likes eating dick, but is this really the time to call him out on it? Have some decency, man.

I’m disappointed in you, Print. You insensitive bastard. After all Renny has done for you.

Forget kicking cancer’s ass. Punch it directly in the face! Repeatedly. You need to keep that type of imagery going all the time.

Back in '83 my younger brother had a rare (and up to that time incurable) form of cancer that he eventually beat (and he’s still clear to this day). One note about my brother: he’s always been a bigmouth, a fighter, and a cheater, ever since he was a small boy. He told me that he never once thought he was going to die from it (even though the stats were gravely against him). Cancer just had NO fucking chance with him. Now he admits it’s one of the best things he’s ever had to deal with.

All the best to you Renton.

Well said. Much better than I could.
