The AfterLife

One other thing, Brother Chris:

Temptation hasn’t been mentioned yet and temptation is a big thing in Christianity. If there is some course of action I want to take that makes me feel good, but I don’t take it because I resist that temptation knowing that it is wrong, what am I motivated by? Isn’t Heaven the greater reward that is held up as motivation for resisting temporal temptations? My knowledge of the Bible is lacking, but I’m pretty sure that this directly addressed in it and Heaven IS that greater reward.

It could be out of a love of God and desire to serve Him and follow in His ways, regardless of the reward.

Heaven alone would be the greater reward for people who go to church and then act as if by going to church this makes them better than those who don’t. Those types are just as selfish and judgmental as anyone who would assume someone who believes in God is a moron.

In effect, I agree with you.

A Christian should be motivated by a desire to be closer to God, not by just the desire to get a ticket into “Heaven”.

I got 2 tickets to Paradise, but I’m no Christian.

After Life, I usually enjoy a plate of eggs.

(See if anyone get’s the symbolism here. lol)

You got any original thoughts on the matter, or are you just going to keep regurgitating someone else’s opinion? One that was written a couple hundred years after the fact on top of everything else.

This constant pointing to quotes in the Bible is bullshit. The Bible was written by men, period. It represents their belief system as handed down to them by memory from others over the course of a couple hundred years. Memory is nothing more than decaying senses, and is therefore flawed at best. In essence, you’re just worshiping someone else’s belief system and not God. Put the Bible down and examine these sorts of issues without it. Or can you?[/quote]

You either believe it or you don’t. I believe what it say’s to be the ultimate truth, not through blind faith but because I have tested it, from the promises off God even down to things like the historical evidence for Jesus and Pilate. You don’t and that’s fine, but you have no more right to call it bullshit than I have to call whatever you believe (or don’t believe) bullshit.

I believe a man is faced with two choices:
1-either to live life to the fullest like some said.
2-or choose the Afterlife and go to Heaven.

No… you are going on faith.

If you are talking about evidence of the miracles he performed or proof of his virgin birth there is no evidence.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if there was someone who had a life similar to the story of Jesus that had mythical aspects added.

If you believe in god okay.

But please stop pretending you are not going on blind faith alone.

Trust me I am not going on blind faith, the bible even tell’s you to “work out your faith”.
You can look up the historical evidence for jesus’ life, and also for pilate, and for jesus’ death, even down to the fact that pilates wife dreamt about jesus’ and was troubled because of it.
Also, seeing as we know jesus was real and have proof of it. when he taught that he was the son off God, he either.

1 - was insane
2 - was a liar
3 - was who he said he was; the son of God

He could in no way have just been a “good man” as some people try to say, any man who taught lies and gave people false hope for eternal life would in no way be a good man.
And I also dont believe he was a liar as no man would die for any cause, because no reward would be any good to him.
And yea you can try and tell me he was insane, but i know otherwise.

Nothing of what you wrote has offered ANY proof that Jesus performed the miracles written about in the Bible.

The bible saying “workout your faith” is not proof

A woman dreaming about Jesus is not proof

You saying you don’t believe he wasn’t just a “good man” isn’t proof.

There is some evidence the historical figure known as Jesus could have existed, but there is NO PROOF any of the miracles he was said to have performed actually happened. <— THAT’s WHAT COUNTS

It’s fine if you believe, but please stop being delusional and thinking you are basing your beliefs on proof rather than faith.
