Feel better soon Alisa, and take care of yourself!
Sorry to hear about the cold. I hope it goes away quickly! You’re working so hard like the others have said leave room for recovery.
Don’t get discouraged about the weight; it’s harder to lose when you’re already lean, but you’re doing the right things. It does take a bit of time. Besides, we all know how little sense the scale makes at times.
So, I’ve been super tired due to this cold, and took the past two days off (if I count rest days as fungible this doesn’t count as missing a workout.) Diet’s been good though.
little bodyweight day.
pushups: 30 with those handle things, 8 “extended range of motion” (that is, chest to ground and up)
dips: 12 bodyweight, 10/5/5 @10 lbs
chins: 10/5/5 bodyweight, 2 @10 lbs (first time weighted chins!) 1 wide grip
jumping lunges 15 each leg
10 reverse crunches
foodposting:
breakfast: peanuts
lunch: salad with chicken breast, apple
snack: sugar-free fro-yo with cashews and papaya
dinner: meatballs, one of those veggie packs with broccoli and celery
^ but what about that thing about FEELING or looking better? There were so many times in the past that the scale would.not.budge. but I was losing inches!
can’t be said enough, but it’s TRUE!

Agreed. In addition to this…sometimes a ‘free’ meal or a carb refeed would spark things again for me.
and AND, you may not have that much to ‘lose,’ to see significant, ‘wow I’m losing so fast’, results…what your all of 140 something? most is muscle, and the other looks to be the normal female padding
ah maybe so.
I wanted to get from “meh, normal” to “whoa, she works out.” It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do. I’m starting to think that’s a whole different physical process than getting from overweight to not overweight.
There is intense stuff that I’m not doing (and can’t do, for practical reasons) – weighing food, eating every three hours, 2-a-day workouts all the time. There is intense stuff that I could, in principle, do, but I’m scared of – MiM’s “no fat, no carbs” diet, doing a bunch of running on top of everything. Or there’s just sticking to what I’m doing, which isn’t so bad, after all. I mean, there’s evidence here that I’m not a lazybones, I think. But maybe I’ll never get past “meh, normal.”
A dude who’s into this stuff did say I looked leaner but I think that’s gotta be subjective.
oh, I’m in a fairly good “place” (I hate that phrase, but in this case it’s accurate.) I know I’m not overweight.
I’ll be back to lifting heavy things soon and I’ll be happy about that. I know how to get better at lifting heavy things. I don’t really know how to do this, so I’m in the position of trying to figure out something that really leaves me lost and uncertain. Think I’ll just keep on plugging though… on paper (or hypertext) it sure looks like it SHOULD work, so maybe it will.
Just stopping in with some words of encouragment. I am trying to lose some extra pounds accumluated over the holiday season right now. Which usually comes off really easy but not so much this time around, but just wanted to say keep your head up and doing things the right way and it will come off just maybe not as quick I we would like sometimes.
Also, saw were you weren’t really into running are you doing any kind of complexes or circuit stuff I know for me I am not a big fan of running either. Usually I do some complexes in place of the all the running.
