Would a every 3 or every 3.5 days injection frequency of Testosterone Enanthate be sufficient for someone with low SHBG of 15 - 16 nmol/L?
It’s hard to find any solid evidence on the actual half life of Test E but from what I gather its around 5 - 7 days?
A couple of the facebook groups I am on about TRT everyone seems to suggest that Test E must be injected at least EOD.
Any time previously I have tried to increase frequency to EOD on Testosterone Enanthate I immediately feel awful, weak, tired, like a zombie lol I cant last past literally a week before I just switch back.
If every 3 or 3.5 days is sufficient then I’m game with just sticking that out and trying to dial in with HCG
Appreciate the reply, why do people insist on the frequent injections? Also they claim that the testosterone once cleaved from ester is metabolised quickly and this is to combat that and keep stable levels in the blood.
I do not know. Apparently, they metabolize it faster and/or are very sensitive to the fluctuation. The idea of the ester is to delay release over several days, which it does. That, and the fact that testosterone is a steroid and not a peptide, means it is slow acting, long lasting so we do not need to inject it like insulin.
Hey @highpull - For those injecting once weekly, but feel a bit of a low on days 5 and 6, do you feel its okay to take a ‘small’ injection at day 5 to offset that low feeling, until the following injection day?
If you’re going to bother injecting 2 days before your next injection, why not just inject twice weekly, 3.5 days apart and maintain a higher trough level which effectively solves your problem of feeling low on day 5?
Quite honestly, I feel like shit for 24 hours after an injection of more than 30mg (wired/anxious/awkward). After 24 hours, I feel great for 4-5 days, little sluggish for a day or two, then injection day comes again. The problem with injecting 2x per week (I’m on 150mg weekly), is that I’ll now have 2 days per week when I feel this way, whereas with injecting once, I only have one day that I’m in this element.
You may suggest I do Daily or EOD… Doing that now. Do not feel good. Constantly bloated, have no energy, and mood is in the gutter. Feel way better on once per week.
It sounds like you need more frequent, but more doses. I wouldn’t waste your time with an every other day protocol, go straight to daily injections, but you’ll have to lower your dose.
When I went from a weekly to a twice weekly protocol, then down to an every other day protocol and then a daily protocol, I found that I needed less milligrams to get the same effect, and in some cases, daily injections was a better response to therapy at lower levels.
I hope you’re not injecting 150 mg split seven ways! That’s the testosterone increased sodium reabsorption on the kidneys that’s causing the fluid retention/bloat.
Yes, I am. 21mg daily. My total T is 800, Free T 21, and Estradiol is around 35. Labs are within range and normal. Oddly enough, when doing 1x weekly, I only injected 130mg, and my trough after 7 days was around 750. Strange, right?
I appreciate the insight! I feel like a 30% or so drop in my dosage will render me very low test. Knowing that my trough on once per week injections was 750, I’m thinking I likely due better at higher numbers.
No, I do not have them take take a small injection at day five. Typically, in this situation, I would have them take two weekly, split every 3.5 days.
But, you…
and…
and…
I think your answer is in there somewhere. With once weekly, you feel low towards the end of the trough. You do not want a twice weekly dose because the higher (30+) does not work for you. Lower, more frequent dose is not working.
I’d consider a dose high enough to get me through the week, but still meet the once weekly, get it over with, response to the high dose.
This is great. Thank you. I do know that in experimentation a while back, injecting a bit of a higher dose frequently resulted in some ‘estrogenic’ side effects… Brain Fog, Moodiness, etc. Is it criminal to have a low dose AI on hand in case these symptoms come about?
