Long time fan, first time poster. I appreciate the board’s knowledge.
Anyway, I’ve got a vial of testosterone propionate that’s probably fine, but because I’m neurotic I want to sterilize it on my end.
I read a publication from a pharma company that recommends 150c for 1 hour. This seems higher than other values that I’ve seen on here. Just wondering if that seems right. At what temp will the product break down?
I plan on filtering into a new vial once it cools.
Some Brewers bake the vials at about 200f for an hour. I think you would need to put a needle in the vial first, but not in the oil, just in the air space to account for outgassing.
Thanks for the replies. I did a test amount this morning by transferring to a beaker and heating, then transferring to to another vial through a filter. Looks like it came out well, but I guess it was probably redundant…?
I’ve got a handful of sterile 22mu filters that I’ve been using. Should I be paying attention to the specific material they’re made out of or is it just the pore size that matters?
