Picture of Dallas in the summer.
I would definitely be there. I would also probably:
a) drink less;
b) sleep more;
c) get my damn keys off the TV stand before I check out of the hotel and fly all the way back to Miami (sans keys).
Or maybe not. But anyway, it would be great, as someone suggested, to go beyond lecture presentations and get into some hands-on learning! I know that by applying the basic techniques Dave Tate talked about, my squat went up about 40 pounds, instantly (or, in technical terms, from “shit” to “suck”). Imagine the improvement if we had some equipment on hand and could all work together on form. Ditto for Dan John and the Oly lifts. Anyway, keep us posted!
Got any pictures of San Antonio? Come on - you got all but that one. LOL!

Refugee camps don’t count!

I’ll try to find a picture of some fat chicks.

Maybe this can tie into a schwag suggestion: A quality bar and some bumper plates donated, used in the demos and hands on, then given away to a lucky attendee.

HAHAHAHA!

San Antonio.
I live in Richardson. I have a reverse hyper, ironmind squat racks, and am getting an Eleiko bar soon. Couple of crappy rubber bumpers, too. I’d be happy to bring anything to the event (except the reverse hyper, since I don’t have a truck).

You beat me to it.

News at 11 in Corpus Christi.
I didn’t mean to hijack. By all means, let’s get back to talking about the “Test Fest”…being held someplace nice.
I have to agree with the Professor here. Houston is a great city. Lived there for four years, and loved it. It is highly underrated. Austin is a good time too, just a lot smaller. I would be at either one. And the chicks do really walk around in bikins downtown. Southerners are just plain friendly that way.
Houston rush hour looks good to me. ![]()
Keep it someplace that’s easy to fly into. I know that I can get a direct flight to Dallas/Ft. Worth anytime. Not sure about the other places, but I’m sure they won’t be much different.
Definitely agree with Shugart about the Embassy Suites. The rooms were nice, the beds were comfy (best I’ve seen in a hotel ever), the breakfast was free (even if the chef poisoned me), and it was a good place to meet.
Let’s do it!
I would definately be down for doing this in texas. I live in Dallas, i would be willing to go to any of the big 4 cities. Austin being my first choice.
This sounds like a good deal especially after reading about the DC event.

Oh, but the hijack was fun! ![]()
I’d like it to be in San Antonio, but we just live an hour from there. I’m seeing majority leaning toward DFW, though.

Now, I’m sure it’s hot there, with the moisture and all… but you still can’t beat Phoenix 118 degree summers. Unless you’re from Bullhead and/or Lake Havasu. Perhaps, Professor, you’re just wishful thinking about DFW?

I just talked to my friend who does 200 seminars a year, he gave me some GREAT suggestions and he will help me negotiate with the hotel. I’ll update when I have some more information.
Malinda and I were planing one already for the DFW area, but if you’re truly serious about having one in Austin then we’ll back off.
My vision for this was too be MUCH more of a hands-on seminar instead of lecture. I have access to a weight room, a spring loaded mat covered floor, and lecture/classroom facilities here in Arlington. All private, all at our disposure, provided we do this in the Summer.
But I’ll acquiesce if you’re serious. no problem. We’re still in the talking stage anyway.
Let me know!

I’m all for Houston or Dallas. I wouldn’t need plane far for either places.
Kroby, come down here in August. I’ll show you HOT as HELL. I’ve been to Phoenix, it’s nice compared to here in the summer.
