Telling CFIDS, Fibro and Hashi's to Suck It!

Whew, OK, doing the show thing knocked me for a bit of a loop; I sometimes forget that the fatigue can be on a delay timer! I need to hold back my impatience and recover a little more fully before I stress my body again, but I am using this time to plan out my workouts and round up a bunch of people to do a Paleo challenge with me on Facebook. XD I’m so used to talking to others like myself (lifters, crossfitters, bodybuilders, etc) that I forget how foreign that style of eating can seem to others! Anyway, it’s keeping me occupied while my body recovers from 3 days of poor sleep, questionable diet and unusual levels of activity! Dosing up on the ribose and other mito supps, but you can’t really rush these things.

Also, confirmed that taking NADH makes me feel even MORE tired! This is the exact opposite of what it is supposed to do; apparently I am made wrong. So scratch that supp; next I want to try out a stack of l-citrulline and beta-alanine to see how it affects post-workout recovery. Doing things Pavel-style definitely does not beat me up as badly as traditional bodybuilding style or even Starting Strength, but if I can speed up recovery even more, I can do more sets (and maybe even implement his GTG strategy for pullups).

Oh, and I proposed to my man on stage at the convention - it’s the same one where we met, 8 years ago. He said yes, because he knows what is good for him. :wink:

He’s a tall, slim prettyboy. I’m a full foot shorter, weigh more, and carry more muscle; I can deadlift my fiance! They say opposites attract… I guess I’ll be the one carrying HIM over the threshold. XD

Congratulations, that’s awesome (and takes some balls)! I’ve weighed more than most of my boyfriends - probably because I’ve never actually romanced anyone who was into exercise.

Had a mild gastritis flare, I am prone to autoimmune gastritis and gods alone know what kicks it off. OTOH, there is a stomach bug going around - I’m usually blessed with some immunity to those, but it’s possible that fighting it off triggered a bout of autoimmune gastritis. This shit is complicated!

Anyway, feeling much better, and got an object lesson in soft and easily digestible Paleo foods. :wink: Trader Joe’s makes these ridiculous applesauce packets with a sort of re-closeable access portal - I’ve been calling them Astronaut Baby Food. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: However, they are pure fruit and easy to digest, so they were a bit of a lifesaver for a couple days there! So were steamed squash and sweet potatoes, then I moved up to steamed fish, mashed boiled eggs, and chicken soup. ^^; But today I’m eating grown-up foods again, without too much pain. :wink:

(For those playing the home game, I treat a bout of gastritis with the following: Phenergan (doc will prescribe some whenever I need it), Zegerid (otc), DGL tablets, Chios Mastica capsules, digestive enzymes, coconut water, and weak ginger tea. I only take the Phenergan when I’m actively nauseated; I’ll take the Zegerid for two weeks and continue the DGL, Mastica, and digestive enzymes for 4-6 weeks. I drink coconut water and ginger tea regularly; the coconut water really helps with the stomach cramps.)

So, back on track this week! :smiley: Going to vary up the routine a bit with the addition of renegade rows and hanging leg raises to get my core going. Meanwhile, I’m still drooling over that Pendlay Oly bumper set, but not quite sure where I can practice Oly lifts. I suppose I can do it in the back yard until the rainy season starts…

HI I know this is an old post and it really applies to me I have CFIDS too and really try to work out and keep crashing… i love working out and miss it… i saw Dr. Camilleri. in foster city for a while but he is no longer there… does anyone know where he went? are there any other fourms on here for us with CFIDS that need/like to work out? thanks!
