This is actually a false internet rumor. Cell phone numbers are not being released to telemarketers. This rumor has been kicking around the internet lately, but just punch “cell phone numbers to telemarketers” or something similar into google and you’ll find numerous sites debunking this.

That may or may not be true. I had two different telemarketing companies hitting my cell phone.
When I called them back…the number was always busy or I received an automated response, telling me that it was a telemarketing company.
When I called the same toll free number that Jack provided…which is the national do not call list…I haven’t received one call since. That has been 3-4 months.
