Tea Party Organizer Is Epitome Of Privilege

This really disappoints me Mufasa. I’ve come to expect better from you. I always read your posts for unique insight even if I don’t agree with them. You really shouldn’t confuse the hardliners with the rest of the “right”. There are plenty of reasonable people like yourself who simply have a slightly more right-side view, and these people respect many aspects of Ike and others.
He likes to hear himself talk. He was over Rugged Mag when they were up for awhile and would just ramble on there.

Great. So, the Tea Party folk have nothing to do with pre-integration and civil rights America.

Some probably did; and some didn’t.

Some were for Civil Rights; some fought fervently against them.

Many weren’t even alive during the height of the Civil Rights Movement, but may have had the sentiments of their parents passed on to them.

I doubt the Tea Party folks are a homogenous group except for when it comes to our current Government and our current President.

What’s your point?

My point? I’m tired of seeing Obama’s race used as a weapon.

Come now, the sly dig at the tea party folk wasn’t my doing.

I heave heard this repeated on one side of the political spectrum, but I do not see where race is used as a weapon. I don’t think the president really needs a weapon. He is the president after all.

Can you provide examples of what has exhausted you? This is just a cheap baseless attack typical of the right without sources to backup the premise.

LOL!

That really is laughable, tom63!

And most of the guys there DIDN’T like to hear themselves talk? Are you KIDDING me?

At least 99.999% of my post were NOT “Anti-T-Nation”.

Really? No, really? Have you been asleep? We have an ex-President pulling this crap. Mainstream media making a carefully edited video of a rifle toting black man out to be an example of the horde of white racist militia showing up at these things. In this very thread we see these folks being likened to Jim Crow wannabes. Yet, you ask for an example? Wake up!

Let me say this so there is NO confusion:

“I think that the overwhelming majority of people at the Tea Parties were there because of discontent with their Government”.

That’s it.

You can read more into it if you wish.

“…In this very thread we see these folks being likened to Jim Crow wannabes…”

See? This is how this bullshit starts.

I never SAID this and never even IMPLIED it.

I CLEARLY responded to Spartiates post on, as he stated, “…this majical, idealized, time in America…”

I then preceded to put give some historical context showing how difficult it was to find this “ideal” time in America.

…I don’t think Truman and Ike would have been invited as key speakers at a “Tea Party” in Birmingham for the stands they took. And most likely on “T-Nation” would have been viewed as Nazi’s and Stalinist for their “heavy-handed” use of Government.

…Think about some things that Truman and Ike did, Aragorn…then let’s “transport” them to 2009.

Then…HONESTLY ask yourself 1) what kind of public reaction there would have been and 2) what kind of threads and discussion that they would have generated on “T-Nation”.

 1. Integrated the Armed Services. (Against the advice of “experts” and Generals that felt that it would significantly decrease our effectiveness as a Military)

 2. Forced, sometimes via Federal Troop intervention, the integration of Public Schools and Universities.

 3. Began the early stages of Civil Rights Legislation that began the systematic dismantling of “Black Codes”, “Jim Crow Laws” and a whole host of restrictive laws and codes that denied basic rights and previleges to a significant portion of the population. And this was to the cry of “Local/States Rights, or DIE!”
It’s 2009. Exploding deficits, proposed public option (which is hoped to lead to single payer), more bailouts, spendulous, proposed cap and trade, etc., etc. But, you want to bring up burning Truman and Ike in effigy for their actions regarding civil rights. That’s today’s right, I guess.

Man where have you been? Are you serious even?

That’s done by labeling a person that disagrees with policies and directions as having the motive of racism as the root cause of his/her disagreements. Haven’t you seen Carter lately even?

I was watching Bill Oreily sp? last night and the same thing happened. A black professor of law was on accusing America of racism in their problems with Obama. I for one am glad they do this, because the more they do it, the more it gets played out and will loose it’s power as people develop a thicker skin.

Sloth Limbaugh,

I am sorry I was not more specific:

Provide sources
It is so typical of the right to make broad sweeping generalizations with no facts behind them. I am not saying you are doing that, but I am asking you to provide sources.

Well the left wing is certainly getting in their share of violence at the G20 in Pittsburg.

Tera gas, riot police, assaulting police officers…and it’s just getting started.

Curiously none of that happened at the Tea Parties. Even the million + one on 9/12.

I’m sure the msm will really point that out to everyone today don’t you think?

Find the sources yourself. If you had an open mind you would.

lol!! This was really funny, and quite sad at the same time. A giant leftist acussing the right of baseless accusations. “hello, pot?, this is kettle…you’re black” Oops, you’ll probably misconstrue that as a racist remark. Hahahahaha! Whatever. You’re either willfully ignorant, or you’ve been living under a rock. The left has been consistently doing this for a while.

I’m coaching my son’s football team this year, and have quite a talented, speedy halfback who can cut and run like nobody’s business. Guess who my go to kid is when I’m third and long? Well, the race card is the left’s speedy little half back when they’re third and long. It’s consistently been their go to play. A little time on a search engine could easily cure the ignorance which so totally affects your thought process.

Now give me a lap you turd…
