Tattoos In Bodybuilding

Most of us don’t compete anyways. BBing is for personal satisfaction, not for some old man to say weather your butt looks tight enough or not.

Tattoo’s are art, BBing is art, and the human body is our canvas.

If you don’t want a tattoo, then don’t get one. I personally have one, I like it…I could give a damn what you think about it. So you’re gonna take over the stage huh? Post some pictures. Check out Caveman’s pictures, he has more than a few tattoo’s and a pretty damn good physique to go along with it. I respect your opinion, but I don’t respect the way you presented it. How old are you? How long have you been training? What are your stats?

Perfect example! Caveman’s muscles are clearly visible, ripped, and tatted’ up.

tattoos kind of crack me up

something outcasts used to do that confromists now do

getting to the point where the biggest rebel in society is going to be some nerdy dude with no tats or piercings

im not anti tat, people can do whatever they want. some look great. but most look like shit(barbed wire, chinese symbol, tribal etc etc)

i always like my grandfathers navy tats because they were hilarious if you new him, a real nice polite guy with tats on his forearm of some chicks legs in high heels

my old biker uncle has so many he has one on the inside of his bottom lip, i like that

but wtf is up with the chicks and the lower back tat, why not just write “im unoriginal and i put out” on your forehead? that’s tthe point isnt it?

i feel like if you are gonna get ink, go all the fucking way, get some of that yakuza shit covering your whole body

but that is my philosophy on most things, go all the way or go home

I know what you mean. This modern tattoo craze seems to have taken the meaning away from a lot of them.

How many tribal arm bands do you see and how many of those people belong to a tribe?

It is like wearing A&F because everyone else is.

I like some tattoos but I think most of them I see are pretty lame.

There have been a couple tattoo threads on this site and some of them are very cool.

So, first of all. Just because someone has a tribal tatoo doesnt necessarily mean they’re in a tribe. Hell they could LIKE a specific tribe and mimic their rituals, which could entail tatoos. Hell, maybe they like the way they look and drew one up, liked it, and decided to put it on their body. Unless you know the origin of a tatoo, (which you don’t) you cant really judge it.

And wearing abercrombie is a terrible analogy. I’m in high school, so obviously A+F is the “craze” all of my friends wear it, my gf wears it, hell my brothers wear it. I dont like their clothes, but I wear their baggy styled jeans and pants/shorts because its high quality clothing that works. I cant wear the shirts out of the store because they’re cut for “gucci brokeback guido hairgel molesting deuschbags” but it doesnt take away from the quality of their clothes.

Obviously this guy would win a body building tatoo listing his strict diet along with huge huge self.

A&F makes good quality clothes but too many douchebags wear them thus making people associate douchebaggery with A&F.

Same deal with tribal armbands. The first couple I saw I thought the were cool. Now that every douchebag and his brother has one they no longer look cool in my eyes.

A lot of people in the tattoo industry feel that it has been done to death. Of course, if it means eating that day, some may do them anyway

Here is an unoriginal tattoo you speak of. It shows an unoriginal design and birth sign with flowers representing 2 children and husband. Guarantee none exist like it in the world. And yes she put out just fine.

Your generalizations are pathetic.

It actually sucks much worse then a Satan tattoo. Thank you for demonstrating my point. i hope that one was temporary.
You, are truly a piece of garbage.

The tat above the ass is NORMALLY a sign of a freak, trust me. Go on any corner in any major city, and check all of the hookers’ backs. Same with big popular malls, check the girls’ backs. I guaran-damn-tee you that 9/10 of them have a tat there.

Don’t get me wrong, I love tattoos, I just hate hookers.

Again, big generalizations.

Well the least you could do, if your gonna write some lame-ass post is actually appear to be older than 12.

What do you care? If this is the way you feel, I would think you would want your competition to get as many as possible giving you an edge.

Thinking about it more, isn’t this a sign of YOUR mind and what YOU think? In other words, it’s the freakness in your own head and shit you think about when you see one.

You’re an idiot. I have a bunch of female friends with tattoos right above their ass, and the majority of them are NOT freaks.

Rockscar face it, your wife is a freak. That is why we love her.

I saw a post about people showing off thier tattoos. Personally, I think tattoos have no place in bodybuilding. All the greatest dont have tattoos, Arnold, Zane, Metzer, Coleman, Cutler, Lou none of those guys had tattoos…why? Cuz If me and you step on stage, and you got a tattoo of a dragon, or a demon, or hitler, or a devil on your quad, chest or back… and I got a perfect tan and no tattoos, I got you beat, even if I was smaller and had less definition. Why? Cuz bodybuilding is about everything… Skin, simitry, and even everything down to your hair cut and how white your teeth are.

Ben weider would even say that you should look perfect in everyway when you step on stage. Even if you think having mom with a heart around it looks cool, it aint other peoples idea of perfection. and this sport is about struggle, pain and perfection.
I love the last sentence. That is fucking funny! Somehow the words “struggle” and “pain” just don’t belong in the same post with words like “perfect tan” and “white teeth.” My tatoos are of my military unit and a memorial to my son. That, my friend, is pain and struggle. Sometimes I like bodybuilding, but when I read such pretentious crap like this, I really feel sad for the “sport.” I enjoy when Waterbury, Prof X and others talk of their training because their dedication does the talking, not their ego…or perfect tan!

Tattoos are matter of personal taste. I think that the right tat can enhance someones appearence. I’ve heard tattoo enthusiasts speak of using their body as a canvas. That is where the real problem lies; a lot of people are painting on bad canvases.
