I asked a graphic design to artist draw up my most recent tattoo. He emailed me the image, I tacked it up on the corkboard at my desk and there it sat until I found the right tattoo artist who was motivated to ink me up in the style I wanted.
It took what, almost three years before I found someone?
Finally got it inked just a few weeks ago and I love it. Clearly the best piece of art I own, it’s meaningful, and I get to carry it around with me all day every day. It’s awesome.
As for pain? C’mon man, it’s relative. Take a break every couple hours, smoke a cigar, bang a shot of whiskey out of a flask and get back after it. I think it’s important to stay in the moment though. Rather than divert your attention or get all kinds of fucked up or to take pain pills or whatever is a cop out and you lose out on the whole experience.

I work in Asia and I jokingly told my boss I was going to take one of her stamps and get it as a tattoo. I picked one up with a string of 4 or 5 Chinese characters and I said this would look neat with a dragon or something.
She told me it said “Please write neatly”

office stationery and furniture, i always wore long sleeved shirts even before i had ink on my forearm.
only place i wouldnt get ink is my neck unless im a tattoo artist or a sailor.

yeah the new tauruses are nice!
Most of my jobs have been with the federal government and I am sleeved out on one arm ,half on the other and have a visible tattoo on the back of the neck, never any issues. The side of the neck I would agree would be a big no no.

I know, right? My brother-in-law fell in love with his 2010 Taurus as soon as he walked into the dealer lot. They’re a far cry from the older models. However, he does admit that he kinda regrets the purchase as the thing handles like a ship.

I didn’t spell anything wrong though. I just typed “are” twice. The mistake occured bevause I was in such a rage over the tattoos in this thread.
Asking someone else what you should get permanently etched into your skin is a pretty obvious sign you shouldn’t get tatted. I’m flying home tonight and am gonna get “If found dead, return to Texas” on my left oblique. This is a pic of a chick I’m seeing. Went with her Monday to get her newest tat.
Yeah, neck tats are dumb. I really regret the one I have, it makes me look like a fucking thug. I know, what did I expect when I got it? At least it’s covered when I wear a polo or dress shirt but it was fucking dumb. I was in a bad spot in my life, lots of hard drugs and just being an idiot now I have a permanent reminder about that time. Yeah, I’m a fucking idiot lol.
