Interesting…

since you two are such opposites how about the idea of a yin yang…Opposites affecting each other is what the yin yang is all about…Now I know the yin yang idea has been way over done as a tat…but how about taking your initials and designing them in a way they resemble a yin yang, you know?

Maybe you could each get the Hulkster with a caption “Whatcha gonna do brother?”

I like it, but I was always a Macho Man fan…OOOHHHHHH YEEEEEAAAAHH! Perhaps a tat of the Lovely Elizabeth. Hummm…

[/quote]

So maybe he can get the Hulk and you can get Macho Man and when you put the two tattoos side-by-side, they’re dukin’ it out or something. Sorta like a puzzle.

Thanks guys. I wish I had more time to post. I have a full sleeve, and upon seeing the thread I thought I’d have to argue against the “swastika and satan” tattoo guy. Instead, when he mentioned brother, all that came to mind was sharing ink on 26" PYTHONS!

Dude… if you want a tatoo to mean something to you, choose it between you and your brother. Dont ask for someone elses idea.

I’m just looking for ideas. I’ve looked all over for some “brother” symbol. Looked at Chinese characters, but every site I looked at showed a different symbol for the word Brother. I was hoping someone here might know of an ancient Celtic, Zulu, Mongolian…symbol for brother or brotherhood. Google images hasen’t been much help. We have decided on the “brother” theme, we’re just having a hard time coming up with a design.

Are you any of these nationalities? Because otherwise it’s just nonsensical.

Get a hot chick tattooed on you. You could get a girl dressed as a Marine, and he could get a musician. Get 'em by this guy: http://joecapobianco.com/tattoos/tattoos_13308.html
That tattoo was done on my wife last Friday, she even won a trophy at the convention. Sorry, just had to give a plug, and Joe Capobianco’s work is awesome!

Okay, anyway, think about being a bit more flexible with the brother theme. Like I said above, you could each get something similar, yet different. Just like you guys are brothers, but different. I would avoid the chinese character thing, not only has it been done to DEATH, but frequently it doesn’t mean what you think it does.

The win-yang is also pretty trite, but there are ways to modify it. Maybe have one of you get the black section, and one of you get the white, for example.

I would suggest going to a tattoo convention. Not only are the fun as hell, but you can see dozens of artists and their work all at one time. You can get ideas that you wouldn’t normally think of as well. For example, when we were at Hell City, my brother was planning on getting a tattoo of Starry Night by Van Gogh.

The tattoo artist said it would take way too long to do at a convention, so he made an appointment at the guys studio later. But he still wanted to get one there at the convention. He looked around, and found a tattoo of a phoenix. It really clicked for him, the symbolism of rebirth and second chances. So he got a phoenix tattooed on his thigh, to symbolize “second chances and the hope I won’t be a shit-bag the rest of my life!”

Ooh, here’s an idea. Do you have a picture of you guys together as kids? You could each get that tattooed on you somewhere, showing your connection from early on. I would suggest Bob Tyrell

http://bobtyrrell.com/galleries/portraits.php , Ton Renshaw http://www.tomrenshaw.com/index2.htm , or Kat Von D http://www.katvond.net/grey3.html . Not to mention, Kat is pretty damn hot. So there’s some ideas, hope it helps.

Now this is creative.
