Taking the Edge Off BCAA

just brought 500g of bcaa(powder form) and well it tastes really fucking horrid.I put around 10 grams in with around 600ml water and it was extremely strong.I just wondering if any1 has any ideas to take the edge away, i’m thinking obviously use less BCAA with more water, but maybe like with tea, but i thought that may have a bad effect on the BCAA like people say it does with creatine. Any ideas/suggestions are very welcome, thanks.

Mix it with protein powder, and some sucralose to sweeten it.

Buy some empty capsules and load them up?

Naw that would be way too many capsules to stomach. BCAA is something that should be pressed if you want it in pill form.

What I do is mix it with water, and wait for it to float to the top, as it does not mix well. Then I just get the bad stuff out of the way and eat the stuff on top with a spoon.

Shake it for awhile (5 mins) with Crystal Light then let it sit for about an hour. It will have a chance to take to the water better and not float on top like Mr. Bubble. Shake it again just before consuming.

I just mix it with some crystal light in 4-6 ounces of water and just take a shot of it.

I was going to say the same thing. I had some Vanila protein powder that made me want to throw up ever time i drank it. Some one said use some crystal light. next time i got Vanilla just so I could use the CL

Suck it up. You get used to it. The first two workouts using powder, I thought it was awful. I barely notice, now. If it continues to really bother you, use the Biotest brand.

presumably you are using it to put on muscle.

in which case the majority that you take is in and around workout times.

these times are suitable for fast acting sugars.
I use 25g protein powder
25g dextrose
25g maltodextrin
couple of grams of a flavouring system

the flavouring helps, but its the dextrose that hits you like a train.

it takes a little while to get used to the sweetness, but its a hell of a lot more preferable to the shitty BCAA taste.

right now im cutting so im not using the fast acting sugars and it is killer 40g powder per day. bleugh

if you are cutting too then I sign the ‘suck it up’ post.

It is not available in England. I have used Ribena extra light in the past. It does the trick.
