Take a Snap of Your Food

I’m basically addicted. Up to 5 servings a day now…and I’d go more if I didn’t have a 30g carb per day limit.

It’s my feel good food.

Lunch -
Chicken in gorgonzola sauce (Trader Joe’s)
Spinach with Omerga 3 vene^&^& and balsamic dressing
Havarti Cheese
Carrots
Apple
Green Tea

Cool thread.

Here’s some local wild salmon, veggies, and brown rice eaten an hour after my workout today.

Flip, with meals like that, i guess youre not planning on losing that newly found 6 pack anytime soon.

The food looks fantastic, how ya liking CW’s routine ?

I can’t find any wild salmon…it’s not in season. I think it’ll be out march or may. I hate the farmed stuff. It tends to have a funny after taste…kind of gassy or chemically.

I am liking CW’s routine more and more everyday. It’s not boring, I can say that much. As far as my food intake, I am actaully eating more than usual with the hope of gaining some good muscle while keeping a descent looking middle section. I’ve already gained 1.5 pounds last time I check.

An omelet and hash browns, that I made this morning.

Kinda similar to my breakfast…
Egg Omelette - 3 whites\1 whole, chicken, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms.
Quinoa.
Spinach with apple slices, raisins, some mixed nuts and olive oil balsamic dressing.
Coffee.
BCAA, Flameout,MV.

How do you usually make your quinoa? It looks like you cook it similar to oatmeal. I’ve only used it in recipes before…the best being a Quinoa Pudding recipe.

Can you link that Quinoa pudding recipie?

I prepare it similar to rice…I use a rice cooker and cook it just like rice. 1 part quinoa to 2 parts water. Keep in refrigerator and it is usually good for about 3 to 4 days. You can do this if you do not have a rice cooker.

Super quick Quinoa recipe…
1/2 cup quinoa
1 cup water
1/3 of a bouillon cube

boil water, add the bouillon cube and stir.
add quinoa, bring back to a boil.
simmer for 12 minutes.

This makes two servings.

This is addicting…I can’t stop taking pictures of what I’m eating.

Supershake:
Low Carb Metabolic Drive
Flax meal
Greens+
Almonds
Mint Extract

Damn…I never even thought about using my rice cooker for quinoa. Thanks for the tip!

Here’s the quinoa pudding recipe I tried:
http://www.rwood.com/Recipes/Quinoa_Pudding.htm

Although, when I made it I didn’t add hazelnuts or currants, since I didn’t have any.

Flip, you just gave me a hardcore almonds craving. I wanted to take a picture of my anabolic pumpkin pie today (which was damn tasty)…but my I don’t have a cord to upload my cell pics. And my poor college ass doesn’t have a digi camera.

I still need to give quinoa a shot.

what exactly is quinoa? Its like oatmeal right?

NOt quite, its not technically a grain, I forget exactly what it’s considered, but its more of a rice like consistency has as virtually a perfect amino acid profile. It’s very popular in other cultures, Samoan culture comes to mind. I’m pretty sure its a staple in their culture (correct me if I’m wrong anyone) and damn they are some strong people.

It’s basically just a good healthy carb source that is relatively high in protein and has a good amino acid profile when compared to other carbs sources.

Please post the Anabolic Pumpkin Pie recipe!

That sounds really good  is there really such a thing?

Alright well I’m still playing around with the ratios a bit so you can tweak it to your tastes, but this tasted awesome to me. I didn’t have whip cream but I will use it in the future.

I used

3/4cup cottage cheese
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 egg beater (egg white is the same thing…I’d use a whole egg but I was all out)
half cup of fat free milk
pumpkin pie spice to taste (I use alot)
2 scoops of Grow! Whey (obviously another flavored protein powder is optional.
1/2-3/4 cups of dry rolled oats.
Splenda to taste (I used about 6 packets)

Mix it all in something over safe,
Cinnamon to taste on top

make sure you coat the pan with something for non-stick as there is no crust (I intend to invent one soon so stay tuned)

My nutritional values came out too

645kcal
~70g protein
~45g carbs
~20g fiber
~8g of fat

Those numbers are rough as I changed some things around but basically you get the general idea of what to mix and use. Your numbers will be different based on how much of each ingredient you use.

Mix it all up and bake it for about 20-25 minutes on 350 (no preheat)

I had myself a nice little anabolic pumpkin pie. I will be improving/tweaking this recipe in the future. It was still quite tasty, it tasted like pumpkin pie to me and it was a shitload healthier…I’ll top it with some whip cream next time around.
