Tailored Suit Jackets

Any one else have the problem of having to get their stuffed tailored to fit properly? Went into a DXL store( for those that do not have one by them its basically a mens big and tall store) Found a jacket that fit good and I could cross my arms…BUT. The damn thing look like a circus tent around my waist. Clerk told me they could not really bring it in as much as needed at the store and I would need a costume order… crap $$$$

I have weird proportions, and now from lifting they are even weirder. Huge back and smaller arms lol. Custom suits is the way to go. I would look at getting them from countries like India or Nepal online. No joke you’ll save 100s or 1000s of dollars going this route. The fabrics they use are just as good if not better than what we have in the states. I have never ordered online, but have only gotten them when I go there. Last time I went, I got 3 top notch quality tailored suits for $600 bucks total (jackets, pant, vest). Can’t beat that! EACH of those suits would be MINIMUM 1200 here in the states.

I’ll try to see if I can find some reputable sites that you can use to just order from. Expect a 4-6 week wait though.

I own a company that makes custom menswear, such as suits, shirts, and their components. We do mostly in person but I’m happy to do online too. Email me if you’re curious about pricing etc. Info@custom-clothing.ca

I, too, am huge but have no way to indicate as such.

Ill probably end up emailing you here in a few minutes

Yup…I went to a wedding last year & the jacket I wore really didn’t fit well…God knows how much it would cost to get tailored, even renting a larger size suit in the UK costs a bomb!

Slim fits seem to work ok. Sometimes the arms are really small though.

I prefer to rock a custom shirt with a vest and tie. I’ll wear a coat to/from wherever I’m going but it comes off ASAP.

You can get custom made-to-order dress shirts pretty easily online. I get mine from proper cloth. They’re around $150 and take 2-3 weeks to deliver.

I don’t have the problem of requiring extra large suits, but I do have very off standard proportions, which is annoying because I have to get almost everything amended or custom made. As for suits+shirts, I have short arms (helps on bench press though) and a larger neck & chest. Fat ass + short legs as well… If I buy a shirt off-the-rack, I won’t be able to close the top button and will have a too fitted and uncomfortable look around the chest. If I go up in size, the sleeves will be way too long and the waist will look like a circus tent

As I need them for work, I have invested in two bespoke suits, where you go to several fittings during the suit construction to make them fit like a glove. My other everyday suits are online made-to-measure. So you submit your measurements online and the suit is being produced in a cheaper country. I’ve been using the same two companies for shirts and suits for years now.

Got it, I’ll email you tonight when I get in my computer.

Suit jackets would fit really well if I were pregnant all the time. But, you just pay to have them taken in.
