T3 Levels

Hey guys,I have like most a dumb ENDO DR. I’m on TRT but also have graves disease. And most know the #1 side effect is hypothyroidism…after demanding he look at my blood work because I was so tired, weak etc…all hypo symptoms,he decided to check,is there a way to make sure my levels are low any tricks ? before I take my blood ?

Just so I’m sure I understand…you don’t want to know if you actually have hypothyroidism because you’ve already made up your mind that you do and so you’re looking for advice on how to make it appear as if do…even if you don’t?

There are lots of other things that give those symptoms and I personally would be shooting for lab results that accurately reflect what’s going on…but that’s just me.

Honestly, no. You have already stated that you have the symptoms of hypothyroidism (or Graves). Best thing now is to really take a deeper look and find out what is going on and for that you need lab work. You need a baseline before starting any kind of treatment.

You should get a full panel done

TSH
Free T4
Free T3
Reverse T3
Ferritin
Iron
Vitamin D
Testosterone (total and Free)
LH/FSH (assuming you’re a male)
Estradiol (E2)
Cortisol serum (morning fasting). You can do a saliva test if you’d like after this, to rule out adrenal issues, as well.

Hyper is usually caused by graves.
If you are in fact Hypo possibly check for Hashi’s.

thanks guys sorry If I was not clear my DR is a jerk when it comes to blood results…like with my test…It was 1 point in the norm so he said thats hi enough…he did not know I was getting copies of my blood work and last yr my T3 was very low but according to him it was fine,I had to get my own T3 and It worked fine,

so now I have every symptom of hypo,my weight loss has stopped and Im gaining…so he gave me blood work so yes Im just seeing if there is a way to make the levels as low as possible…sounds stupid yes but with this DR I have to and I stay with him because hes the only 1 I could find that would let me inject at home…thanks guys…

Call him and tell him you want your result. He can be as tough as he wants to be but those are your results and he has to provide that information to you…those results are yours!

Agreed. Most doctors that are like this, aren’t going to help you. Call his staff and ask for the results because you want a second opinion.

What you need to do is call a compounding pharmacy in your area and ask them for a list of doctors that prescribe HRT. These doctors, are usually more than willing to run a battery of tests and get to the root cause. That is how I found mine.

thanks guys

what time of day would T3 levels be at there lowest?
