T-Nation Shaker Bottle

I also agree on the conspiracy theorist idea. This guy has shown that countless times on this board. Heh to each his own. My guess was he was using low quality protein powder that wouldn’t mix well regardless of the shaker.
I’m a post-and-forget person, so you’ll have to cite specific examples where I advocated “conspiracy theories.” In any event, I am flattered that you remember more about my posts than I do. It’s nice to have a fan boy.

I thought you worked for the company because there was no other explanation for why someone would recommend such an inferior product. The base of the shaker is too narrow. Thus, when you put in two scoops of protein (On reflection: I’m guessing you make girlie-shakes and thus don’t have this problem), clumps of powder cling to the bottom of the shaker.

A good shaker must have the two following attributes:

 1. A wide base. This way, the protein is less likely to cling to the bottom-side of the shaker.

2 A screen. This does two things. It keep the user from drinking a clump of powder. Also, it keeps the drinker from having to use his tongue to “knock” down ice cubes that try sneaking up through the mouthpiece.

The blender bottle lacks both attributes. Though I suppose it’s fine if you’re only using half-a-scoop of protein for your shakes.
What are you talking about???
It wouldn’t matter how large the base is to make the protein stick to the sides. What would matter is if you use that crappy “cake mix” protein. I have the Blender bottle and I have never have had a clump and it’s never leaked. I stand by it being the best shaker and no I don’t work for them.

The Cadillac of shakers - able to mix anything with just a few flicks of the wrist, hehe http://blenderbottle.com/

Do you work for the company? I ask because I bought 3 bottles to try out, and I think the bottles are terrible.

They don’t mix well, and that little whisker thing doesn’t get the clumps of protein that build up around the bottom of the shake. Maybe you only put in a scoop of protein, though?

Plus, there is no screen to prevent clumps of protein (or ice) from coming up the “lip” of the shaker.

I’m pretty ticked at how poorly these shaker bottles work, and I’m going to request a refund. (If you have ties to the company but didn’t disclose it, then you’re a scumbag.)

The best shaker bottles I’ve used are from Elite Fitness (elitefts.com). The “screen” makes a world of difference. (I have NO ties to the company, though I wonder if the Blender Bottle people didn’t send some in some plants to this thread!)
Sounds to me like you first put in the scoop of protein powder and then add fluids. In my experience that will get the powder stuck in any bottle regardless of bottomsize.

I’ve been using the TurboShakers for quite some time now, never had a problem. Can’t find the homepage for it right now but it’s at Netrition too: www23.netrition.com/netrition_turbo_shaker_bottle_page.html

I think I’ll try that Blender Bottle as well soon.

A T-Nation shaker would be great. The logo in and of itself is so motivational. Also, I’m sure if Biotest did make one, it would function very well, they don’t do things half way.

How does a post about shaker bottles turn into a flame war?

Blender bottles work great. If it can get all the lumps out of Myoplex it can mix anything. As for powder stuck on the bottom, when that happens I just shake (the bottle) a little harder and problem solved.

Umm… have you tried adding the water/liquid BEFORE the protein powder?

Also, your attack was completely uncalled for, the other poster’s attack on you was justified by your attack.

I think I’m going to buy the blender bottle now. Maybe YOU work for them, and get people pissed off at you enough so they’d want to buy what you don’t recommend???

Reverse advertising. You’re the head of the company aren’t you?!

Bodybuilding.com has some nice shakers, I don’t use them much, but when I order stuff from them (things Biotest doesn’t carry) I usually get one of those things free.

Bought a blender bottle and it works great. The little metal whisker ball really makes a difference. A very smooth shake with no clumps.

I also use it to mix my eggs in the morning. A couple of shakes and they’re blended beautifully. Well worth the $10!

It would be cool if T-Nation came out with a shaker bottle as I’m sure it would look bad ass!

Yea, maybe with a whisker ball AND a screen.

Law of averages, or some shit like that.

Bought a few blender bottles based on the recommendations in this thread. They work great…I was able to mix up two scoops of cold peanut butter and 3 scoops of Metabolic Drive with no clumps. Usually have to use the blender when I add peanut butter. Best shaker bottle I’ve ever used.

i use the Turbo Shaker, you can get it at bodybuilding.com, it’s the best one i have tried

I had two HOT-ROX shaker bottles from a while ago…best damn shakers I ever owned…

The Vitamin Shoppe shakers have been working for me. They are either $2.99 or $3.99, and if you get them during their “Buy one get one half off” sale then these count toward their name brands. It’s a good time to grab a handful of them.
