T-Nation Members Degrade Women???

Well said Gojira,

I would like to add – How sexest of you to think that you need to fight our battles for us. As was stated in Gojira post we have voiced our opinions on this subject - and we have been heard.

I for one can over look the “semi-nudes” to get the great training and supplement information found here.

I might suggest that you test the waters around here before posting anything else like this, or you will find yourself flamed at every turn.

First of all, what the fuck is this supposed to mean? If your goal is to spark an intelligent discussion, begin by sounding intelligent.

Just browsed this site, and found shitloads of pictures of semi-nude young women, conveying a message of sexuality and submission.

Yes, there are a number images in the archives and articles like that. The males of this site tend to enjoy that sort of thing. However, allow me to point out that the women on this site have voiced their objections, and TC has toned it down a bit (which we appreciate). You should have been here a couple of years ago.

I find this extremely disturbing, and it sends harmful signals to young women who wishes to train and build muscle.

As do I, and I have made this abundantly clear time and time again (cue TC’s yawn).

O’Rly!!!

Somebody please tell me WTF this is supposed to mean.

It seems like you on T-Nation seems to focus more on silicone, attraction and sexuality than physical achievement and musclemass when it comes to women. For this you should be ashamed.

Discuss.

The site is designed to attract young males, hence the sexual overtones. The women here are a minority and are not the targeted demographic for the products sold on this site. However, allow me to add that although we are the minority here, we voice our opinions loud and clear and will stand toe to toe will any of the males here.

While I appreciate your concern regarding the portrayal of women on this site, we’ve already beaten this horse many times. It is an ongoing battle. Not just here, but throughout the weightlifting community in general.

The ladies that post here kick ass.

Oh yes!

And if they not complaining, then fuck you.

You’ve demonstrated how to take a good point and execute it poorly.

This sounds a lot like the feminization thread actually. Since when have men, being men, and appreciating the details and the beauty of the feminine form, become degrading to women?

There is nothing wrong, ever, with men or women, looking at pictures of a beautiful woman, no matter how dressed. This is a terrible leap, that one second T-Member is admiring beauty and the next they are being degrading for doing so.

Lets face it, who here isn’t here for their own looks and appearance? Even the athletes, mma fighters, PL’s, all the people here, are here to learn things that will improve their health, body, physique and by default looks.

Does the OP really have nothing better to do with their time than look for a fight over something that isn’t there? I come here to discuss, and learn from my peers and like minded individuals. I like beautiful women. I look at pictures of them when they are placed up (which should definitely continue) where does that even incinuate abuse to women?

I actually find it very motivational in my training.

Too late. TSB baby.

Men here appreciate womens’ spirit and intelligence, and personhood no matter how horny we are. BUT, to deny one’s nature is just as much a crime as to let it rule over you.

Now go back to your soy double mocha latte and leave us alone.

As would most people who keep pictures of their goal physiques around, male or female.

bkorv if you find it “extremely disturbing” then I suggest you look at most other muscle mags. But be forewarned: you may be so horrified that your head spontaneously explodes.

Awesome response’s ppl!

Man I laughed when I read his post, scrolled down and say all those tasty, tasty photos!

Yes, they’re fake, yes they’re unattainable for many… blah blah blah. How are the pics of professional bodybuilders any different? At least the semi-naked siliconies are good to look at.

go to the douchebag thread and post your pic

To the OP,

The name of the site is T-Nation. The name is derived from the word testosterone. Testosterone is the hormone derived in the male species of the homosapien. This hormone regulates the male species attitude, body composition and over all well being. This hormone also has a great deal to do with the male species sexual desire, and aggresiveness.

Now that we have that out of the way, LEAVE US THE FUCK ALONE AND LET US LOOK AT SCANTILY CLAD BEAUTIFLY WOMEN, OR WE’LL BLUDGEON YOU WITH A 25 POUND PLATE, YOU ASSWIPE !!!

By the way, the majority of women look at the pictures as well and do not find them as much of a derogratory item as they do an inspiration.

I think I can speak for the majority of the male population and the females on this site when I say, get a life, unplug your computer and use the power cord to go hang yourself dumbass.

Great quote!

People should not be so sensitive. If women find this upsetting then that is a life lesson they need to learn and get some spine.

If I log on here and see a handsome guy with a great body better than me I don’t feel intimidated etc… and all that shite, that’s life, I have my own goals and progress and stuff to worry about not theirs.

ALL women should likewise think.

A lot of the model-types on T-Nation are quite pretty etc… but personally I don’t like silicon AT ALL I’d prefer the woman has no breasts and is natural. That’s just me. But if they want to do that, it is OK too, everyone has their own preference. I similarly don’t care for every hairstyle or fashion, but I don’t look down on it etc…

I have more respect for a body sculptured by hard work than by surgery etc… as well.

I think my main point is that you can’t degrade women, if they won’t allow themselves to feel degraded. The only person who is lessened is the guy, not the woman. HOWEVER if a woman feels they are not meeting their own personal standards/goals then that is another matter. But nobody should allow themselves to feel they are not meeting the standards of OTHER people, and feel bad about it.

Except fatties.

Or to put it another way, nobody should fail their own standards and then push the blame onto others who are making them feel degraded by showing their appreciation of others who have achieved high standards.

I also find the pictures motivational. You can obviously tell these girls workout plus they are HOT! If they offended me I would go to some chick website, and still be stuck in the rut I was in before I came here. What did you honestly think you were going to see with a website called T-Nation?

Am I the only person who thinks this is just a blatant troll post, and that this guy has no intention’s of sparking intelligent debate???

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong premise. Wrong conclusions. Go read a few hundred threads, PM people here before posting such threads, and maybe lurk for a year before even considering posting a topic.

Just my 2 cents.

I Rly don’t know what the big deal is here. But I do believe the women had best quit posting on this thread and get back in the God damned kitchen. Rly.

I could do without the T-Men ripping teenage boys to shreds yet fawning over wannabe T-Vixens who would rather show off their flat midsections than their lat spreads (or their lack of one).

I don’t mind the T&A, though. I didn’t know who Jamie Eason, Moorea Wolfe, and Jelena Abbou were until I saw them in T-Nation. This site shows me more women to stare at. Is that a good thing? :stuck_out_tongue:
