T-Nation Guitar Players' Thread

Steely knows about my goth Les Paul (not a Gibson, just an Epiphone), still play it but not as often as I would like.

I tried out some of the Epiphone goth series but the quality/feel wasn’t right and the pickups output was too weak, very different from the regular Gibson goth series (which were some of the best guitars I’ve ever played)

Does anybody else constantly play air guitar when driving or just sitting around with music playing? Nothing major just kinda noodling to the music.

I always drive with my left hand on the wheel at the 8 o’clock position moving my imaginary frethand and my right hand strumming the top of my thigh or the shifer. My wife finds this kinda odd. I don’t even notice most of the time, too bad it won’t make me a better player lol.

Curious if others here do the same thing.[/quote]
I always think it’s funny because it is about the most practice I get.

holy shit, you guys rock!
I have been playing a bit more than ten years. I am currently playing a Fender Stratocaster American Deluxe model. I love it.

Here is a vid of me trying to do Sublime’s What I Got. i am singing the vocals, and the guitar improv really starts at around 2.50

I am a frustrated shredder. there i said it. haha

Lefty! Nice, man. Good quacky tone to that strat-- classic! (I’m a tone junky).

Yes. I’m a huge fan of air vibrato.

Naaaah, not really. But I thinks many of us do something similar in the bathroom. LOL

ah yeah that Laney Amp in the club really brings it out, then the pick ups on the deluxe model are the cobalt noiseless ones, but I don’t know, mine are still noisy. haha single coil woes.
thanks though! appreciate it from a tone junky!

yes! i just pretty much made that up on the spot. hahaha. there was no previous arrangement before we played that song, as in the break down parts, and someone just happened to be recording it that evening.
thanks I really appreciate it man!

Lots of talent in here!

Here’s my flubbing around with Joe Satriani’s ā€œMoonlightā€, ignore my brain farts and loss of concentration at the end \m/>_<\m/

Remu - nice.

What kind of guitar is that?

For the guitarists:

Some aren’t too shabby.

Thanks man, it’s an Ibanez RG 2120x with Piezo, it’s probably the best guitars I’ve ever played in my entire life, I was really lucky to have come across it. Not sure what kind of neck it has but it’s a tad thicker than the typical Wizard 2.

Excuse the lighting

No direct modifications just lots of patience with tuning for string tension and truss rod adjustments. In high school I got kids to pay me to set up their guitars for them haha.

Question, am I the only one who has used the same single pick for the majority of their playing career? I customized it and haven’t found a pick that matches it but was just curious if anyone else is as picky as I am!
