Okay, I?m cutting (not my first time) after 2 months of dirty bulking, and if anyone reads M&F I?m following the ?lose 10 pounds in 4 weeks, work-out program? (April UK issue). It?s a 6 day week work-out with abs and HIIT per work-out so needless to say into my first week I?m finding it very demanding. After the program I still intend to cut but want to do so using supplements, predominantly to fine tune the cutting process (if there is such a proposition) and just to experiment.
For your information I have my diet sorted out, I am already using a whey protein and I don?t need a fish oil supplement because I eat a lot of fish, also I?m thinking of 4 supplements max to make up the stack.
So, what supplements would you guys recommend, please name the brand as well, and if you can be bothered would you suggest it in powder form or capsules.
You can comment/criticize on the stack I?m thinking of buying.
Casein (Reflex Nutrition) - I?m getting bored of cottage cheese every night before bed.
BCAA (X-tend by Scivation) ? just because the amino-acids in it are beneficial pre and post W/O and helps to maintain muscle mass.
Creatine (recommend a brand) ? increased strength gains, needed if your on a cut.
L-Carnitine ? for the enhanced energy levels but predominantly for its fat-burning properties.
Glutamine ? I know the benefits but not sure if this a vital one, what do you guys think.
My first piece of advise is to not take advice from M&F!!!
Second, protein products n such should be a staple in your diet while you’re cutting or not.
Some good cutting supps would be Fish Oil and HOT-ROX. However, if your diet is not great, no fat burner in the world will do shit for you.
My cutting stack was basically fishoil and HOT-ROX. I’m always on fishoil, so if you wanna get technical, then only thing I change for cutting(for me) is dropping complex carbs, and adding HOT-ROX.
Hammer the fish oil, regardless of how much fish you eat. You can’t overdose on it, I am currently on a cut and consuming 30 grams a day thru Flameout and Triple Strength Generic.
Twoscoops is right about HOT-ROX, save it for the final stretch. Creatine, 5g pre and post. Receptormax seems to be working as well.
Coach Thibs put me on to a cortisol lowering protocal that includes 20g of Glycine (powder) and 400mg of Phosphatidylserine (capsules), taken before bed. It doesn’t provide a six pack overnight, but over a 2 month period I am seeing the results. Abdomen body fat is slowly disappearing.
I also cut my carbs to Surge Recovery only, post workout, and all other meals are protein and veggies. Trace carbs the rest of the day add up to less than 100g. Protein is at 1g per lb of body weight. Casein shake before bed with natural pb.
THIS PROTOCAL IS WORKING. Body fat is down from 8.5% to 7.2% in 2 months and I had a 3 week lay off in between where I had mouth surgery. MY 2 CENTS…

Actually Hangerbaby said that :). Why save it for the last stretch and not use it throughout?
And I found Surge Workout Fuel to be particularly effective with it’s effects of increasing workout capacity and reducing fatigue, especially in a caloric restrictive state where we tend to have less energy and strength loss is possible. SWF kinda kept that at bay.

because if you stall and are still considerably overweight, something else is wrong. If you just throw HOT-ROX in you’ll never know if you have your real problem under control… which will just lead to future complications. Despite its selling power, even Biotest does not recommend using it more than 1 month at a time. I saved mine for the final stretch and the effects are much more noticeable (abs showing through, veinage increasing, appetite and energy changing.)
Basically, I love HOT-ROX, and I can barely handle the full dosage. I lost 40 lbs without it first and made sure I was at a presentable BF% (in the teens) before even considering that kind of stuff.
HOT-ROX is not meant to shed the fat, that is ALL diet & exercise, it just provides a lot of aid in it. If you can’t lose with diet & exercise, you definitely shouldn’t be trying to shove pills down your throat with hopes that it happens that way. Thats what causes people to rebound from skinny to fat, their body is untrained and undisciplined to natural fat loss(and keeping it off)
Thats just my THEORY though, by all means try HOT-ROX, its a great product and I recommend it to anyone who wants to cut or lose those last 15 lbs
