Good point. Kessler’s only beat Andrade and lost to Calzaghe, in terms of mainstream guys. Ward’s only beat Miranda.
That’s why this fight’s so hard to predict. Ward can definitely take it in a UD (his only real weakness is his power isn’t anything special). The only thing is that I’m not sure how good his chin is, but he’s got good defense so he might be able to avoid the big shots from Kessler.
In the next round, Ward vs. Dirrell should be awesome. They fight in very similar styles.

Yup. Ward won the gold at Light Heavyweight and Dirrell won the Bronze at Middleweight.
Just to go on record the dirrell-froch fight was horrible!..god they both fuckin suck! dirrell runs too much, it looks like hes scared. I appreciate the way judah, mayweather, pernell whitaker dance aroound the ring, but they take shots.
dirrell just looks scared and holds way too much…that being said i think dirrell clearly won the fight, froch didnt even touch him. also Froch fuckin sux, and BELIEVES hes an actual quality champ, when hes not

I was definitely surprised too. I didn’t expect him to dominate Kessler like this.
yeah i was pretty posative on this one so i’m glad i was right. wasnt really happy with kessler accusing ward of intentional head butts. as a fighter you should realize from time to time style matchups can make headbutts common. this fight was a perfect of example of this.

On Showtime I think they said there was 5 clashes of heads, Ward tried to pull a Holyfield LOL.
I think the ref was pretty fair and judging was pretty fair too. I think Kessler usually being pretty dormant in the early rounds and getting that cut really hurt him, it’s hard to come back with one eye. All he can do is try to do better next round.
If an American wins the tournament and Froch gets knocked out I’ll be happy.
yeah Froch is a douchbag. his comments after the the dirrell fight were ludacris. he acted as if he completely dominated Dirrell. i fucking hate the brits man. he is no where near as good as he thinks. Ward def. has the best chance outta the americans. Dirrell is good but his defensive style can confuse spectators and judges alike into thinking he’s scared or injured. I blame that style completely for him not beating froch.

I could imagine him saying “You know me, I’m a warrior. He left his cup open, I had to hit it. When you mess with a cobra you get the venom.” as he gets disqualified for hitting below the belt.
I was pretty surprised by Ward, I was confident that Kessler would have too much for him but Ward is certainly an impressive guy and one to watch in this tournament - nice to see the American fighters finally getting a ‘W’ too
I’m not going to defend the Brits. But to compare an entire nationality to such an exceptional asshole as Froch is pushing it. I mean, Froch is pretty special. For someone to be a boxing champion, with a ludacrously hot girlfriend, and a cunt on and international scale… the mixture of jealousy and loathing is inexplainable…
Don’t most Americans hate British MMA fighters too? Bisping I can understand (although I think he’s funny) but Dan Hardy is awesome Froch is definitely the least talented World Champ we’ve got right now (and no, I hadn’t forgotten about Amir Khan ;))

It’s the ones that are arrogant that I can’t stand (Froch, Bisping, Hardy). Khan actually has serious talent but his downfall will be his chin.
I personally feel that brits in boxing have this cocky attitude about themselves even though for the most part they’re not that good. Once they leave there island and face real opponents they ALMOST never win let alone dominate. I wouldnt have such a big problem if they waited till they beat some real names to start bragging. Calzaghe is a perfect example: A guy who waited till all the good opponents were past there prime to fight them. Then bragged how he’s the best ever. Do you really think those fights would have been the same if B-HOP or Roy Jones weren’t in there 40’s. Guess we’ll never know cause during that time Calzaghe was hiding in England fighting Tomato Cans.
